My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Shields For Families, Los Angeles, CA, USA
I have worked for several Non Profit organization's down through the year's, (Salvation Army / Harbor Light, Walden House / El Monte, but when I was honored to become a family member of Shields for Families Inc., it has been an experience of a life time. Up until this day, 9 1/2 years later of being affiliated with the organization, I have yet to find another that has such extensive (in house) resources for the community it serves and employees alike to advancement in life. They offer the community a clean slate in life, allowing them to become clean and sober, productive citizens through education in all areas of life, including Vocational Services, Life Skills, Mental Health Services and reunification / education for the entire family involved. A non profit organization that truly cares about the community and the staff alike. I thank God for Shields for Families Inc!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
being given the opportunity to advance in the work place. I have been exposed to a much higher level of education through an organization that encourages its staff to always go after higher learning and higher living in life.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
implement more "Mental Health and Physical Wellness" for the faithful staff that work with community members, being that it can be a very stressful environment interacting with all sort of unsettling behavior's of some that are struggling with emotional , family and drug and alcohol issues to name a few.
