John Andrew Mazie Memorial Foundation
August 10, 2009

The foundation helps students in the Framingham High School. Most of the students are at risk of never finishing HS or getting into a lot of trouble. The fondation finds volunteers from the community to serve as mentors and pairs each mentor with a student. There are various activities to get to know the interest of the student and to figure out the best strategy to help the student identify what he or she needs to do to change things around. The most important part of the program is that it teaches the students to set goals and helps them plan and prepare to accomplish them. I encourage everyone in the area to check the Mazie Foundation and volunteer, give back to the community and help make it better.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the way my mentee( a high school student) conduct himself. He is more confident and secure of himself and he is already making plans to attend college once he graduates.

More feedback

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The sense that I am not alone, there is a support structure and when there are difficulties they step in and help find the best solution.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very pasionate and well informed, very professional and capable of helping the students.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand and help more students from other communities. It could provide more educational activities and scholarships to help students with their financial needs once they start college.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009
