Review for The Heart Connection, Des Moines, IA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The weeks I have spent volunteering at Camp Heart Connection have been amazing! To see Oncology Campers who have been so sick during the year thriving outdoors and to see Sibling Campers who are often in the shadows during the year get attention showered on them makes my year. Camp Heart Connection changes lives of both the kids and the staff.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Everything!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Fabulous!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Bring more programs to other parts of the state and expand programming for young adult cancer survivors.

Ways to make it better...

Important people in my life got more involved with this program.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Iowa has a lot of remote areas that may have only one childhood cancer survivor in the whole county, while urban areas can have upwards of 100...providing services to all must be a challange.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Camp Heart Connecion is always the best week ever.

Review for Stupid Cancer, New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This organization is a powerful voice for all of the millions of young adults who were previously unrecognized as stakeholders in the fight against cancer. I’m Too Young For Young For This meets young adults wherever they are in their cancer journey and provides them with probably the most comprehensive list of resources out there. They are collaborative in nature, working hard to ensure that young adults are no longer isolated and that they have access to the tools they need to get the treatment they deserve. At the core of the hip and trendy messages put out by this group are facts, resources, and support. Thank you, I’m Too Young For This, for being a lifeline for so many people.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The fresh, hip messages that still convey important, factual information. The endless supply of energy generated by the staff and volunteers. The collaboritive spirit!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Faboulous! There is nothing else to say!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Reach their goals faster!

Ways to make it better...

Obviously I would just prefer that young adults did not get cancer! But since they do, this group is so important!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Helping folks to realize that young adult cancer does exist!

One thing I'd also say is that...

This is an amazing group.
