When my gxh came out of the closet 6 1/2 years ago, after almost 32 years of marriage, I was relieved to know that I was not the problem. Even so, when I found the Straight Spouse Network, I was helped through the process of grief and given so much support from others who had experienced this in their lives. I feel that I have friends all over because of the Straight Spouse Network. They have been a life saver for me.
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... the online support they give to one another.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... that I can connect with others who have shared this experience, and help others as they struggle through this.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... very helpful!!
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... reach many others who are struggling and help glbt be more accepted in our society.
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... I was not feeling so alone, and in a fog.
- If I ran this organization, I would... help to promote the acceptance of glbt.
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... trying to reach more people in this situation.
- One thing I'd also say is that... the Straight Spouse Network is a life saver for all those dealing with a glbt coming out of the closet after being married.
