Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence

San Jose, CA USA

I have been involved with Next Door solutions for over one year as a volunteer. I have had the pleasure of working with their staff on the Kid's Club program and newsletter. Kid's Club provides free child care for clients while they attend support groups at Next Door. Kid's club provides a safe, fun and educational environment for children and covers new topics each month. Topics like feelings, friendship, communication, self-esteem and many others are covered. I have seen first hand what a positive influence that Next Door solutions has on their clients, clients children and the community.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... Building self esteem in children. Providing a safe, fun and educational place for kids to gather.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... The time spent here really makes a positive impact on the clients and their family
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... Giving, caring, smart and kind.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Expand the services it offers to help more families. Increase community awareness of domestic violence in all walks of life.
Ways to make it better!
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Fund raising. Next Door provides a large array of services from housing to legal, translation services. They operate on a relatively small budget and are still able to provide amazing levels of service to the community,
