NLCHP is one of the most effective national groups in the fight to end homelessness and poverty in America. The staff and volunteers promote positive social change on a daily basis through their work with grassroots advocates, the private bar, students, and direct service providers.

- I've seen the results of this organization in... the thousands of homeless children across the country who now have access to school and related services due to NLCHP's advocacy and technical assistance.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... dedicated, passionate, and experts in their fields.
Ways to make it better!
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... gaining bipartisan political support for legislation that addresses the root causes of homelessness and preventing cities from punishing people for being homeless.

Center for Family Services does AMAZING work with a tiny budget. They provide assistance for everything from housing to parenting education.

- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Move into a new building to better serve its clients, increase the number of staff, and expand existing programs.
Ways to make it better!
- One thing I'd also say is that... Center for Family Services was like a second home to me while I was in college because the staff treats volunteers like they're family.

Even though Running Start has only been around for a little over a year, the group has managed to make a huge difference in the lives of young women across the country. With a staff that consists primarily of volunteers, Running Start not only inspires young women to run for office, but also provides them with the tools to do so.

- I've seen the results of this organization in... the 50 high school girls who attended the Young Women's Leadership Retreat and left feeling like they could make a difference in their communities by getting involved in the political process.
Ways to make it better!
- One thing I'd also say is that... Running Start relies on the generosity of donors to support their programs. The group offers all of its trainings for no cost and even provided travel scholarships to the girls who participated in the Young Women's Leadership Retreat.
