Kiva is a wonderful nonprofit. Not only is it built on a great idea, but the staff and volunteers are so deeply passionate and determined to make a difference. The idea is sustainable and making a huge impact in communities around the world. I am proud to be part of this community as a lender and volunteer

- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... like most non-profits, funding and budgets are tight. instead of charging lenders to make loans, they use an 'optional donation' feature.

This world-renowned Opera has resided in the Civic Center's War Memorial Opera House since the building's completion in 1932. The opera presents about 70 performances of 10 to 12 operas. This review is for the CARE program within San Francisco General Hospital. The CARE program manages the Araceli Theater Project, which is a drama therapy program for cancer survivors. Through drama classes, survivors heal and learn to express their stories. They engage their imagination and voice, in a safe community setting. The plays are valuable to the community, because they bring forth issues and allow the audience to better understand what others are going through.

I volunteered at the World Affairs Challenge in 2008, put on by World Savvy. The event was extremely organized, from volunteer training to execution. I believe the students truly benefited from the event, and it opened my eyes to the inequities of our public school system. Despite having to be there at 8 AM on a Saturday, I had a great time and would love to volunteer again.
