I had a wonderful time performing at SLB radio on a Saturday morning, and I loved seeing all the community work and youth-centric engagement! In particular, just before I went on, there were several teens being interviewed about their opinions on local politics, and other kids were creating their own recordings of segments. There was also a live jazz band performing before me -- all kids, and they sounded so good!

I have been volunteering at North Hills Community Outreach for 12 years! Before that when I was employed I donated money to the organization but now I donate time. I consider everyone there my friend - staff and volunteers alike. When I was 5 my Father was shot in a hunting accident. I can remember receiving services from organizations like NHCO way back then. Food, Christmas presents, Easter baskets, etc. Now I am able to participate in this great organization giving back to others what I myself have received. Volunteers at NHCO tend to stay for the long term! I am so proud to be a part of North Hills Community Outreach.

I am extremely satisfied with all the services that the Veterans Leadership Program has provided with over the years. When I was homeless they helped me find housing and when I was struggling financially they provided assistance with rent, food, utilities etc… After attending Job fairs provided by the VLP with their recommendations I got hired at Pittsburgh Regional Transit in the maintenance department. Tickets for Kids has truly been a blessing to our organization. They have provided tickets to event that the children that frequent our programs would never be able to afford to attend. They are courteous and compassionate in doing their work. We don't know what we would ever do without Tickets for Kids.<br><br>If ever we have a problem, we contact them and they always answer back to us with a solution to our problem.

I can’t say enough about Glade Run Lutheran Services. They are a vital component of human services in every community they serve, saving lives daily. Their innovation shines brightly, exemplified by the warming shelter they initiated a few years ago—the only one in our area. Beyond providing lifesaving services and being a significant human resources asset, Glade Run is also a major driver of economic impact. They are a large employer offering competitive pay and benefits. Truly, they are a community-minded organization, and we are blessed to have them in our region.

I am a partner with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank (GPCFB). Every encounter I have ever had with one of their representatives has been a positive experience. Employees are passionate about what they do and are knowledgeable and eager to help. All trainings provided are top notch and worth the time.

The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation has had a tremendous impact on communities across the country, raising awareness, supporting survivors and their families, and empowering countless others to save a life. Its education and engagement programs have become essential education tools in schools, churches, workplaces and community centers. And the depth of resources on the SCAF website, including its Cardiac Arrest Survivor Alliance, has extended their reach with a robust online community of support, advocacy, hope and healing.

I am a board director for the Human Services Center (HSCC). I am proud to be associated with all of the talented and committed board directors, volunteers, interns, and staff. When I began my career at Auberle in 1989, the HSCC was one of the first places I went to gather information on the community and innovative ways to positively impact it. Nothing has changed since then - as the HSCC is still a creative leader in the community!!

I was diagnosed with Chiari 1 Malformation at the age of 60. I started having all kinds of weird neurological symptoms, along with horrific occipital headaches. I went to a neurologist who sent me for an MRI of the brain and found that I had a 2-3mm herniation. When he reviewed the results with me, he said that I definitely did NOT have chiari malformation as stated on the report, I was not herniated 5mm. I did not go back to him. I have a new neurologist who also feels that I don’t have Chiari…”everything is in your neck”. I don’t have any other choices where I live for neurologists, so I just go to her for my six month appointments now. But I came across Conquer Chiari and found my home! I have done studies and Chiari Academy and have learned so much. They have been my life saver. Especially the ACT therapy study I was in. I was also lucky enough to find a pain management doctor who has helped me with interventional injections rather than medication because I still do have to work. Conquer Chiari has helped thousands of people and will continue to do so and should be recognized for all THEIR accomplishments and dedication! Thank you for listening.

I have been with fun and freedom for about almost seven years now and it’s so much fun! The day camp, basketball, volleyball, helping with the purse bash, winter activity’s for the littles, everything! It is so much fun helping with f&f

Our son was a resident at Southwinds and was injured several times due to poor safety practices and poor judgement by the staff. Our son required several surgeries for broken bones and cuts. <br>It is my opinion that agency is poorly run especially where safety is concerned.

As a survivor of domestic violence, it makes a life-changing difference to have a resource like Crisis Center North in the community. The staff and volunteers at CCN are so passionate about what they do. As a volunteer, fundraiser and board member, the focus is always on how to best serve victims. There are so many avenues, many of which are unique to CCN (microloans, prevention education, lethality assessments, free counseling, 24 hour hotline, medical advocacy, legal advocacy, and canine advocacy -- yes, we have cute puppies)!<br>I am proud to be a member of this award winning team (2 Governor's Awards and nation wide recognition for advocacy efforts) and the impact CCN has on the lives of victims every day.

I appreciate the difference between local governmental officials having "on the job" and "formal" training. To serve the public interest through the first experience without benefit of the second is a little like a rookie being handed a game plan and calling plays during the big game. LGA's Newly Elected Official's Course came in time for me to understand what I had struggled with a year before as a rookie governmental official. My course work cut through some rough spots, providing me a much clearer view to local governance and as a bonus, much more confidence. All learning is experience based, true, but so much of LGA coursework is underlined by using the experts to teach these courses. We need these guides in a classroom full of peers who are living through very similar situations. This formal learning enabled an environment that allowed me to excel. I could feel it florish before the course was over. As a result, I want to continue to excel in government and foster this knowledge. I am so much more interested in our superseeding laws, land use, human resources, public safety, infrastructure, and ethics, to name a few because I have a much needed understanding to effectively govern over these areas. I had been elected a year before this course. LGA's founders and executive staff cared enough to understand that to provide a very solid curriculum and line up the best instructors is key. I will thank them by continuing to put this knowledge to better use and long as I can and passing the idea on to others. We as a nation can have no better goal than that.

The Mentoring Partnership has been a great organization to work with! They have helping me develop a mentoring program at my school and have offered various trainings for my school.

I have volunteered a few times at Spina Bifida and every single time, I never wanted it to end. Everyone there from the young people to the staff to the managers are extremely enjoyable. They would always go out of their way if I needed assistance with a task. If they are willing to do so much to help me volunteer, then I know the care they are giving to the young adults must be incredibly off the charts.

I felt the love and warmth of this organization from the moment I stepped through it's doors. Angels' Place truly embodies the nurturing, caring and helpful persona they've built over the last 40 years. The organization is truly a blessing and each individual who works here genuinely cares about the community they serve.

Throughout the years I have volunteered for various organizations but have always wanted to help an organization that strived to make a greater impact on individuals lives. Rainbow Kitchen Community Services fits that mold as they excel at everything they do and go beyond providing a nutritious source of food for low-income individuals or families. They enhance the well-being through various youth programs, clothing drives and community activities. GTECH is a group of highly competent, creative, and compassionate people dedicated to developing innovative, sustainable solutions to community development. I worked with Megan and Andrew from the ReFuel team and I was consistently impressed by their hard work and critical thinking around problems facing the Pittsburgh community. The project I worked on with GTECH focused on how to turn an invasive species, knotweed, into a value-added product. I worked with the ReFuel team to evaluate the possibility of turning knotweed into biochar to be used as an agricultural additive to remediate urban soil. Biochar production is still a little developed field and the fact that GTECH was willing to take on a project in such a new field, is testament to the organizations willingness to innovate and think outside the box. Im thankful to have had the opportunity to work with GTECH and look forward to seeing what cool projects they will undertake next!

I'm a former business owner who went to work for Light of Life after re-evaluating what I wanted to do with the rest of my career. At the age of 54, I joined the mission and have found the work to be profound and the team to be inspiring.

Adagio Health professionals are kind and understanding. They are non-judgemental. They have helped so many women who would otherwise forgo pap smears, breast exams and mammograms because of the cost. I was a patient there, first in 1979, before I was employed there. I have continued to get my exams there, ever since. I am a nurse practitioner with commercial health insurance...and I choose Adagio Health.

I have a brother who has been involved in the Arc of Westmoreland workshop and now in a group home they manage. The experience and wonderful care is beyond the family's expectations. The professionalism of the staff in all aspects of caring for him put our mind at ease knowing he is being treated with dignity and respect.

Coro is a fantastic organization that allows for incredible levels of access to leadership in Pittsburgh by its participants. The Fellows Program in Public Affairs is a very rigorous 9-month fellowship that challenges, strengthens and encourages its participants to take on the task of becoming a leader in the industry of their choice. The team that I'm working with are 14 of the most insightful and intelligent people I will ever have the privilege of working with at once. The extra value to Coro that isn't highlighted enough in its promotional materials is the ability to work closely with such talented people and learn from them while participating in program activities. It's just as much an introspective learning experience as it is a professional and industrial.

YMWAHA truly is dedicated to helping our youth. I have watched them interact with our kids, and watching a child learn how to do something they previously thought was impossible, is the most magical thing in the world. Keep up the good work!

As a new mother, I was tremendously picky when I started looking for child care options. I toured many facilities, but Providence was by far my first choice. I was immediately comfortable with the staff, and the atmosphere at Providence is unparalleled. The family services they offer outside of child care are extensive and I hope to take advantage of them as my family grows. I truly feel that Providence has a very positive effect on my child's development and I feel comfortable and confident going to work every day knowing that he has such outstanding care. I would highly recommend this organization to anyone.
