Hello sir! <br> I am Muzhgan Kharoti, in the Attorney General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan,My job is to deal with various crimes such as kidnapping, murder, drug trafficking, terrorism against domestic and foreign security, prevention of violence against women and other criminals. In 2018, I was appointed as a prosecutor by the Attorney General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. I am a member of the Afghanistan Attorneys Association and I am also a member of the International Attorneys Association<br>The Taliban released all the prisoners as soon as they arrived in Afghanistan. They are threatening to kill me and my family and I spend my days and nights in different places to save my life. I was a law enforcer and prosecutor in the previous government and was involved in the trial of many terrorists. The militants want to take revenge on me, so far I have knocked on the doors of many countries for humanitarian visas and no one has given me a positive answer. I've been a volunteer literacy tutor with the AACLC for over six years. in that time, I've helped clients master difficult passages, improve their reading skills enough to read to their grandchildren or pass the GED. Sometimes helping someone discover how fractions work or see the joys of geometry. These successes and the occasional setback are always supported by the AACLC. There is a great pool of knowledge and resources among our group to draw upon. It really does take a village, and I am happy to be a part of AACLC and contribute whatever learning and experience I can.

I have been a tutor with this program for years and it is amazing. Being a tutor and being able to help a learner achieve their goals has been such a joy. I am humbled by the learners' enthusiasm and diligence. Learners are paired with tutors so that they can learn one-on-one and really focus on their goals. There are also classes available to learners to further help them on their journey to improve their English. I have seen how much these resources can help learners to gain confidence and move forward in their lives. It is just incredible!

Volunteering with SWB has been a wonderful experience. As a recent resident to Baltimore, I was lucky to find a group focused on building community and working with children through a language I've always understood - soccer. It has been a pleasure working alongside genuine and caring coaches and school personnel dedicated to serving diverse communities in Baltimore, and mostly, working with the all the kids involved with SWB. I look forward to continuing to volunteer here and contributing to a positive and constructive environment for all SWB's players.

I have been volunteering with Literacy GB for years. I've never had a bad experience. I've tutored women from Belarus and have felt nothing but joy. If I have any questions at all, be it about a method of teaching, materials to use, or whatever, those at Literacy have been there to help me. The first woman I taught now has a managerial position at her job, with people beneath her. She is so happy!

I am currently completing my first-year MSW internship with Social Justice Collaborative in the legal department, and it has been a rewarding experience. The team is supportive, knowledgeable, and dedicated to serving low-income and immigrant communities. Through this internship, I have gained valuable experience in advocacy, client services, and understanding the intersection of social work and the legal system. I am grateful for the mentorship and learning opportunities that continue to support my professional growth and strengthen my commitment to social justice.

I am an 11 year old who recently started volunteering with the Loudoun Literacy Program. I was helping out with book labeling and loved it. It reminded me of all the books that I had read when I was younger and at book clubs. The job was fun and easy. <br><br>The Loudoun Literacy Program is awesome and should continue their great work!

A very professional staff dedicated to improve the life of many immigrants in Trenton. They offer a variety of services that make a real impact.

Sock it to’ em is an amazing charity; blessing people all around the country who are homeless or on the verge of homelessness with clean warm socks! They partner with many organizations in order to make this happen. <br> <br>On October 1, 2023 Journey Church in Castle Pines collected 27, 30-gallon trash bags filled with new socks for Sock it to ‘em to distribute to people who need them most. <br> <br>Thank you Sue and your team for loving people in need and making a difference in this world one pair of socks at a time. <br> <br>

Working with them stateside I would say that they are very passionate about the communities they work with. It is a pleasure to keep in touch and learn about developments with the communities.

Canal Alliance offers a wide range of services to support the immigrant community in Marin. In my short time knowing this amazing organization, I came to realize how interconnected all their programs are. From offering immigration services, to investing in youth education. All with the aim of increasing social mobility for their clients and families. The staff are also incredibly passionate and care deeply for the community they serve and each other. Canal Alliance has proven that they are trusted leader in the Canal neighborhood and beyond.

SCM is amazing. It gives me the chance to help load containers with medical equipment and supplies. I can bring my daughter to help load too -- and to teach her how to be a better citizen of the world. I know that SCM is getting every single supply and dollar donated to people who need it the most: to refugees in Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. I have known Rita, head of SCM, for 30 years, and no one has a bigger heart or a better ability to network and tap into everyone else's big hearts. She gets us donating supplies, she gets a truck driver to donate his time to bring his container and drive it to the port. She gets the container on a ship bound for Turkey. She gets someone to drive the container/truck to the border with Syria or to Lebanon or to Jordan. I don't how she does it, but she does. And I know people who have gone with her to the centers she has set up in Jordan ,and those people have helped to distribute the clothes and medical supplies and hand-knitted baby hats to the folks who need them and wear them. So I personally know that all the supplies I've loaded in Seattle have gone to people in need in the Middle East. No overhead, just the biggest hearts in the world. I love SCM.

I know the HIAS INC. since I and my family came to NYC as refugees. This non-profit organization was very helpful for us. The HIAS on the basis of my scholastic achievements and volunteer work considered me as a contestant for a scholarsip and I was nominated as one of the recepients of it. This helps me to achieve my educational goals and to be helpfull for the society. As a volunteer, I paricipated in a fundrazing activity with the HIAS for Darfure. All activities and communications during my experience with the HIAS have been clear, positive, productive, beneficial for people. Also, the Hias reffered me to a local community organizations, where I can be helpful and apply my scills and knowledge for to help others. For example,I do a volunteer work as a student advisor at the Hillel of Brooklyn College. The HIAS shows an example of helping in different ways to people who need help.

we met a really nice man outside of a starbucks in san carlos. we were $6 short but he gave us a pie anyway "it's not about the money, it's about the cause". on our way out, we made every green light, and realized just how lucky we are. we hope that this organization reaches every goal they hope to reach. and to the man who sold us our pie outside of the starbucks in san carlos, you really made our day and we hope everybody gets the christmas dinner they deserve. thank you to this organization and thank you to the amazing life we are so lucky to have

Thank you very much. I have heard that some people just can not be accepted into they Pro Bono System asylum program because they cases are not as straight forward 'easy' as they wish they were. Others expressed concerns that they do not look like those asylum seekers on the front page of the website. I also saw on the website that they advise to the asylum office, by using deductive method what I'm implying here? I wonder whether or not it means that they give advise against your case if they do not like you, then it is not good. Who know it for certain, please share the information with other gay people here. You probably can get help if you can sex reassignment surgery, you also more likely than not will get help if you marry someone of your own gender or if you can find a good stylist who will decorate your look, for female its easy but need to cut your hair short, for man it would be helpful to have few earrings and color the hairs)long hairs - if you can do any of those, sometimes simple things it can save you from lots of troubles and prejudices down the road. I am striving to learn more and really do my best to come to the right conclusion. Any more thoughts, only practical advice please? <br>Because I like the idea and my knowledge is limited I will start with 5 stars.

As a former teacher & board member of the ILC (1994--2002), I am honored to continue support through donations. During my service there, I saw first hand how exceptional this organization is: the leadership is strong & visionary; staff is highly competent & compassionate; classes are rich in experience & info; and the students not only progress well with their English, but also with their abilities to navigate American systems. The efficiency of the ILC is exemplary as well: monetary donations are carefully &well used; there are absolutely no excesses in expenditures. Finally, the ILC continues to evolve, expand in resources, & to grow in numbers of students. The organization is truly a role model for other schools & nonprofits in general. <br>J Seymour

I enjoy serving as a driver, taking immigrants to the airport mainly. Having that larger amount of time gives me an opportunity to talk in depth with them and their plans. I’ve made personal connections with a few. That’s what keeps me coming back to the Welcome Center. As a driver I get to give them their final “push” and goodbye, dropping them off at a TSA checkpoint at Seatac Airport. They are so grateful for AIDNW’s help. It is nice to know that I’m giving them one of their first few positive and personal impressions of Americans, contrary to what they’ve probably experienced in the Border Control, ICE and judicial systems. We’ve been able to joke on the way to the airport. Tension can get released. Yesterday a Mexican man whom I was taking to the airport responded to me after I said something about his airplane trip being the last hurdle till he could start his new life be with his family. He responded saying he already was in his new life and from then on everything was looking up. I like that AIDNW allowed him to feel that way.
