NAAFA produces a great selection of print materials that I have found beneficial over the past 30 years. Some are ideal for well meaning family and friends but the most important I have passed on to my healthcare providers. Medical bias about size has caused me to receive inadequate care and has discouraged me from seeking much needed healthcare. Just having a well written brochure in hand can make all the difference.

I am proud to be an Nevada Youth Empowerment Project (NYEP) graduate. <br>My Senior year of high school was a very impactful year. I delt with the major transition of high school to college all while struggling with the stress of not having a a place to call home. I was a student working towards an honors degree and needed a safe place that would help support my goal of attending the university the following year. <br>Finding NYEP has been a true blessing. There I was able to focus all me energies into graduating successfully, transitioning into college, learn skills vital to being fully independent, all in a loving and supportive environment <br>Since successfully graduating the program I am 11 credits from receiving my bachelors degree at the University of Nevada, Reno, have lived in my own apartment, held a job for nearly 2 and a half years at an office job, and studied oversees. <br>I know the value of this program in young womens lives because of my personal experience and the ladies I have met go through it along the way. I have grown to care so deeply about this program that I have started a volunteer running group. I encourage you to visit the program and meet the girls who are apart of NYEP and learn exactly what it is that they educated and prepare these young ladies to be successful in. Thank You NYEP for all the help and support you have given me and the help you give to the many other young women in our community!

I lived here Bulverde campus great place I would recommend to many other kids! I moved about three years ago but my sister still resides at the girls home! Staff are amazing they teach us life skills and stuff like that. I personally loved living in the group home. Also they love us. And care for us. Nevada Public Education Foundation (NPEF) has proven to be a real asset to the children of Nevada. The work of NPEF to create the Community Compact really brought key members of the northern Nevada community together in a way that has never been done before. The results of this incredible initiative are already coming to fruition and we are excited to see the long-term impact on our schools. I am proud to count NPEF as a strong ally with Washoe County School District as we move forward with our reform agenda.

Applied for rental assistance Marshalynn was my assigned worker she made the process easy for me and I was approved sooner than what I imagined she corresponded via email when she wasn’t able to call , definitely showed care and compassion while assisting thanks Marshalynn and Hopelink for assisting me

My 4 year old son and I have been attending the free music class through DSOSN for a few months now. It is so much fun! Miss Emily is patient and gives my son the repetition and time he needs to copy her movements.

I am incredibly hurt and upset. I was treated with a severe lack of professionalism in every way, that resulted in me wasting a significant amount of time, money, and emotional investment into a cat I was LIED TO about. <br> <br>I called and was told that if a cat was adopted then it should update in about 5-10 minutes on the website, and so if I were to check a bit after close and the cat was still on the site, it would still be available. I checked on the site a bit after close, the cat was still there, perfect. I was told it is first-come-first-serve. I arrived before 10 AM, before open. I drove all the way from Reno up the mountain just to get a specific cat, only to find out it had been adopted THE DAY PRIOR. <br> <br>Why was I told if it was still on the site, it would be available, only for it to be adopted/taken off the site WELL AFTER CLOSE? And, to top it off, the sibling (which I was also interested in potentially) already had a meet and greet booked. Before 10. BEFORE OPEN. If it is "first come first serve" then how in the world could someone book a meet and greet even before open? I wasted hundreds of dollars, time, I am hurt emotionally, all because of complete incompetence and unprofessionalism. Why couldn't I book an appointment online? Why couldn't I reserve or have a cat held for me? How in the hell am I supposed to adopt a cat that I want if the website and employees lie to me and are unreliable, and "first come first serve" doesn't actually mean that? <br> <br>Please change your business model and how you operate, I have never been so hurt and offended in my life. I thought I was getting a new family member today, and now all I get is a sad drive home and a sour taste in my mouth just thinking about your establishment and everything it does

Moving from Palo Alto, CA for my husband’s work I was concerned about the educational offerings in NV. We are eight years in to our Sage Ridge School experience and have nothing but the utmost gratitude for what this school has given to our three children. We truly believe they are the best version of themselves not just in the academic foundation the school provides but in their confidence and character that can only be earned through hard work, high expectations, and exploration, all the while being supported. My three children could not be more different but I have seen this year after year in the graduates whose expression of excellence is as unique as they are, but profoundly similar in the core strengths they take into the world. I have tried 3 times to donate household goods ,clothing , and appliances to them and they are never open..... the sign says Mon,Wed , Fri .....with the times listed...but they aren't open ...<br>I guess they don't need people to drop off there donations.....<br><br> they should be open for donations at least during the times they advertise !!!!!!<br><br>poorly run ....shame,shame ,shame !!!!!

I used to always go to this thrift store supported it n bragged about it until I seen what they do with most of their donations thrown in the trash but not before first cutting them up and to see the bran new items n hardly used I've pulled out jewelry 300$ mini portable projector even money n to know the trash stained worn items that are mostly sold in the store I will never shop there again I've paid my bills n given so much away from what they throw out

I've been unemployed for 4 years. I asked Nevada legal services for help with an unemployment hearing. Staff attorney Dawn Miller was the attorney assigned to my case. She never showed up for my unemployment hearing, causing me to lose the case. <br> <br>Attorney David Olsham the managing attorney, could care less. David Olsham told me on the phone that he's going to put false information in my file. Nevada Legal Services is a fraud non-profit. They don't care about indigent people. They are suppose to help indigent people with unemployment claims, but they could care less. I guess they don't know what it's like to have hunger pains and no job.
