A few days ago I stumbled across an old manuscript book hidden in my piano music. Inside I found my very first pieces. I sketched these notes during an orchestration class at Walden, it was my first summer (1976). My young teacher thoughtfully introduced each instrument through live demonstrations by expert faculty or by recordings while sharing the notation for the various sounds each instrument could make. At the end of our first week, to my surprise, she gave us an assignment to write a melody for violin. 40 years later, a PhD in composition with more than 75 international performances (including Carnegie Hall), I spend each day creating my own NASA award winning overnight camp - a place and community which strives to mimic many of the best parts of Walden - the perfect combination of Innovation as inspiration, excellent food, plenty of hikes, swimming and the opportunity to build life-long friends. Walden's amazing legacy reveals itself in the experience of my students as well as its own students.

I am so proud to be a part of this AMAZING organization! We are so grateful for our volunteers and amazed by all the support we receive from the Seacoast community. We are blessed to have had 1,500 volunteers come out to help build Habitat Homes in both Dover & Raymond, NH in 2019. <br>Two more veteran families and their beautiful children have turned their dream of affordable homeownership into reality and we couldn't be happier for them!

My daughter and I toured the Blake House in Fitzwilliam this fall, what a gem of a museum, so many interesting artifacts covering such a wide time period in the history of our town. Our guide Ryan, was very knowledgable and informative and we were so impressed with the exhibits on display. So much to see we could not take it in on one visit, and cant wait to return for another in the spring. I cant' encourage you enough to put this local attraction on your to do list if you haven't been there already. Wish I could give. more than five stars, certainly deserves it.<br>Sandra and Allison

As a Listen donor, I've been thrilled to learn that they are in negotiations to buy the Bridgeman furniture store on Miracle Mile in Lebanon. That will make them so much easier to get to and park at as well as give them the additional room they clearly need to supply their services. With so many Federal programs being cut back, Listen is becoming more needed by more residents, especially children.

There is a staff member named Melanie, who should be fired or given an extreme amount of training. The sad part is she is a manager there. When speaking with her about forms that would need to be filled out to get my brother a mental evaluation done, she spoke to me unprofessionally and inappropriately. Giving opinions and judgment towards my brother. Her attitude towards my brother and myself was completely unprofessional and I hope she thinks twice next time when working with someone trying to get a loved one help versus thinking of them as trash that's not worth your time. I could even hear herself and another coworker SNICKERING laughing quietly while I was clearly upset and hurt by the way I was being treated. She had a complete disregard for me who does not have a mental health issue... I can not imagine how she treats people who do...

I’m a former food service employee and would be happy to volunteer my services! I worked for GWRSD food service for 32 years. I’m looking to volunteer 2 to 3 days a week in a Kitchen to provide meals for those in need.

CDC does business as Kingston Children's Center in Kingston. It is a wonderful daycare and summer camp open from 6am to 6pm. The staff are well-trained, experienced and very caring to all the children. They also accept children with special needs, which is why my daughters have gone there for over 10 years. My younger daughter has Down syndrome, and she has been nurtured and loved there from the start. You can't ask for anything more.

This organization provided me with free education to help me prepare for my first home ownership! Now that i am a homeowner i see that they are invested in making housing affordable in my community. They are a wonderful entity.

This small humane society which operates on a very limited budget with few major donors serves Strafford County and adjoining areas with dedicated personnel who do a fine job of rescuing and placing animals who need help. They need new facilities and have recently made plans for a campaign to meet that goal. I have served as a volunteer in the past and have adopted both a cat and dog through the society and have established a trust fund for the group.

I would just like to let everyone kknow what this organization has done for me and my family. I moved into their housing program in may of 2008 into their family willows building, it was built for women, and women with children who are facing issues with addiction and/or trauma. Not only did they give me and my family a place to call home, they providied me with a treatment cooridinater, therapist, intensive outpatient program and many groups along with childcare. They also opened The family place therapeutic pre-school for three and four year old children whose parents are participants in fit programming, my youngest daughter has been in the pre-school for two years and loves it, she is going to kindergarten in September and I willl miss the preschool and the staff dearly. They have done so much for my daughter and have given her oppurtunityies that I could never have afforded to give her right now. This program has saved my life and because of them I went from being a homless drug addicted parent to being clean and sober for over four years and I am one year away from my bachelor's degree in human services. I no longer live in their program, I have since graduated successfully in April of 2012, and live in the community, but i remain committed to giving back to this wonderful organization and I love everything they stand for., so I volunteer as a peer advocate leader and recovery coach for families in transition and remain in close contact with the organization. I truly believe they helped me to go from just barely surviving, to being a productive and functioning member of society. I live each day with so much gratitude for what I have, and I have learned that with the right support nothing is out my reach, They also taught me that it is never to late to turn my life around regardless of the mistakes I have made. I can achieve anything I put my mind to and become a better person for myself and my children. I have gained my independance and my self esteem with the help of Families in Transition and one day I only hope I can work for a non-profit such as families in transition and give back all the knowledge I was given to others who feel helpless and hopeless too.

I am a board member for this wonderful facility, but I only joined the board after my first child had been attending the center for almost one year. I have two children at the center now, and I know they have greatly benefited from the amazing care and education of this facility. What the staff have done and continue to do toward the caring of my children is such a relief of stress and burden for me and my wife, since we must have the dual incomes in today's economy. The Wolfeboro Area Children's Center is unique in that they offer more than just child care in the typical sense of the term. The people there care for kids from infancy to school age. They offer meals. They offer a learning environment. The Center has tuition assistance, an onsite social worker, a preschool-special needs program, a before-and-after school program for school-age children, and so much more. Our community is better because of this wonderful place.

As a former volunteer, I gained valuable skills such as database management, professional office interaction and collaboration, telephone etiquette to gain information from various organizations, and many others. The skills that I have learned from CCFHS staff will be a benefit to me in my job search. <br> <br>As a patient, I receive quality healthcare from a provider who always has time to answer any questions that I may have. She also seems very interested in my care, never dismissive.

We signed a lifecare contract with Riverwoods after checking 20 accredited CCRCs on both coasts. It has an excellent track record since opening in 1994, maintains a strong financial position, is very well managed, and provides consistently good services. The Senate Committee on Aging recently commissioned a GAO study on the effects of the recession and housing crisis on CCRCs, and urges applicants to investigate an organization's financial condition before committing their life savings to it. Riverwoods passes with flying colors, and we're delighted to be here.
