The girls' Program for Academic and Leadership Skills is a really great opportunity for both the girls who attend and the staff. The program offers the girls a unique combination of solid academic support, opportunities to explore the arts, and good guidance in how to grow as a sister, daughter, friend, and human being. I've been working with PALS since last summer, and it's obvious to me that everyone involved in the program really believes in the girls and in their potential. It's inspiring as a volunteer to work with these girls and see them learn and grow, get excited about an activity, and put their creativity, intelligence, and energy towards being a positive influence among their peers. Two thumbs up!

I have been a part of the EPALS program since the fall 2009 semester and am still involved now. I can honestly say that I feel I have learned just as much from the girlsas they have learned from me just from the couple of hoours that we have spent together. I really enjoy the fact that not only are we enriching the girls' mind with math and reading skills, we also teach them character lessons. In EPALS, we teach the girls lessons such as punctuality, responsibility, and fortitude. The girls can and hopefully apply these lessons to their daily lives and become better people because of it. I can truly say that working with EPALS is a truly rewarding experience, and it has made me a better person. I strongly recommend that you bring your children to the program. I promise you won't regret it.

The Youth Leadership Foundation is a fabulous organization. I am proud to have the opportunity to work with DC's youth through YLF. With a healthy balance of academics, personalized mentoring, and engaging extracurricular activities, YLF has seems to have mastered a formula that works!
