I have visited the Yeshivat Hesder in Sderot many times, and I;m always impressed by the learning and character of the students. They are obviously happy and welcome all guests warmly. The emotional support that the Yeshiva continues toi give to the community is inspiring. A great place!

Rav Fendel works tirelessly on behalf of his institution, students and the people of Sderot. Their bravery in choosing to live in a danger zone that is an undisputed part of Israel (within the Green Line) in order to teach, learn and do good works. The Hesder students not only serve in the army with its inherent dangers but come back to study in this border town in the Negev. In short, an institution deserving of support.

The Hesder in Sderot is a true pillar in the community spreading Torah Zionism throughout Southern Israel. Despite living under fire for the past eight years, the Hesder has responded by a. building in Sderot to show Israel's enemies that Sderot will not become a ghost town and b. reaching out to the community through a number of volunteer initiatives. Many of the Hesder student/soldiers are first responders with MDA and often times treat victims of the rocket attacks. To summarize, by supporting the Hesder you are supporting Israel, the IDF, Torah learning, Chesed, and education, all at the same time.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

continue to build "rocket proof" structures for young couples who want to live in Sderot and give back to the community.

This is phenomenal Yeshiva. I spent a shabbat in Sderot and the yeshiva hosted me. It was one of the more moving shabbats in my life. Besides the learning that goes on there, the yeshiva also does a lot for the community of Sderot.

It is providing an anchor for the entire city. At a time when many residents have felt the need to flee for safety from rockets, this yeshiva has not only remained steadfast, but people from other parts of the country and abroad, have chosen to come join them and declare that terrorism will not win!

Why is this Yeshiva so important to the Jewish people? It represents the best that our Israeli citizens have produced during the history of the State. Its students not only are deeply concerned with the advancement of Torah learning, they also serve in the Armed Forced to protect the country. They are also involved in the culture and society in which they live, by volunteering in many of the activities of Sderot. The leadership of the Yehiva made a very dramatic decision to stay in Sderot despite the day to day danger to their faculty and students. This decision is one of strength and courage, of saying to the enemy, "we are here to stay, and nothing that you do will force us out of our legitimate homes". It is hard to find an organization with so many reasons for continued support. Contributions to this Yeshiva is an investment in the future of our people and our country.

I was part of a group that toured the Yeshiva as part of a tour of Sderot. We were greeted very warmly and were very impressed with the caliber and dedication of the rabbis and students we saw learning. The buildings looked very nice; not luxurious, but airy, light and comfortable, conducive to learning.
