I worked as a legal intern for Human Rights USA and I can't say enough about how wonderful this organization is. Their cause-- expanding domestic human rights protection to comply with international law-- has the potential to impact large groups of people, and it works! During my time there, I met with grateful clients, survivors of horrific experiences including torture and human trafficking, and was thrilled that we could hold their abusers accountable. Throughout the summer past clients even stopped by to say thanks. The dedicated staff work very hard to make sure that their cases have a positive impact, not just on clients, but on American society as a whole. By holding human rights abusers accountable for their actions, Human Rights USA prevents future abuses.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

As I said above, the gratitude of clients shows its individual impact. Just as important, though, is the structural influence Human Rights USA has. By exploring new legal avenues in its litigation, the organization strengthens human rights, reduces future abuses and paves the way for other organizations to do the same!

Give it more support! This is a fantastic organization that can benefit and expand with more resources.

More feedback...

Would you volunteer for this group again?

Definitely

For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?

Life-changing

Did the organization use your time wisely?

Very Well

Would you recommend this group to a friend?

Definitely

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

I learned several new skills (investigative research, writing op-eds, working with an interpreter) and practiced/improved old ones (legal pleadings, interviews). Because it's a small organization they really gave me a lot of responsibility. This was excellent experience that I think will be similar to work life after I graduate law school.

I'm currently interning with the World Organization for Human Rights USA, and I can honestly say that working here has far surpassed my expectations. My family and I donated to Human Rights USA because we truly believe in the power of the work they are doing, and know that our donation can make a difference. Not only have they provided me personally with the tools to make an impact in human rights law in the future, but they have also showed me that one individual CAN make a difference. I feel more empowered than ever to continue my schooling in government and pursue a law degree in the future so that I can work towards continuing the sorts of goals that Human Rights USA advocates for every day.

I've seen the ways that Human Rights USA can make a difference in the international community during the short 2 months I've been here, and the results are incredible. Human Rights USA is always working hard on influential cases, and truly makes your donation worthwhile.

Let everyone know exactly who Human Rights USA is, and of the incredible work that they do! Getting the name out more will fuel new donors and get people excited about their involvement with the organization!
