World of Children is THE organization that makes a difference in the lives of children all over the world. I will be forever grateful to them for giving us (Casa de la Amistad) the opportunity to give low income, cancer stricken children the chance to fight for their lives.
Their award is a reassurance that together we can bring hope to the lives of many children and their families.
Thank you World of Children for walking at our side throughout this journey!
In 2014, I was fortunate to receive a World of Children Youth Award. This was an extraordinary honor because the process that their Nominating and Review Committee conducts is multi- faceted and in-depth. Donors to World of Children can be assured that their gifts are spent to support non-profits which meet the rigorous World of Children standards of fiscally responsibility, a long-term commitment to helping children and a proven track record in changing the lives of children for the better. As an award winner, I became part of the World of Children "family," and have been supported far beyond the generous financial contribution. I also witnessed how donors, too, are proud to be affiliated with such a well-run , efficient and far-reaching organization.
The World of Children holds a special place in our hearts and we are so grateful to be part of their wonderful family. My daughter was a recipient of the 2009 Youth Award and was able to expand her organization to support more educational opportunities for girls in rural Rwanda. No doubt about it, World of Children opened the door to many incredible opportunities. Recently we traveled to Rwanda with Kay and Harry and we are in awe of their professionalism, commitment and outstanding support of their honourees. An amazing non-profit indeed.
Chaeli, founder of The Chaeli Campaign was awarded the World of Children Youth Award in 2013. This award not only acknowledged Chaeli as an ability activist but also came with a sizable 2-year grant which is supporting the work we do in the Early Childhood Development field in Cape Town, South Africa. We are not only grateful for the generous way in which the World of Children Award is supporting our work on the ground but are continuously blown away with the way in which they continue to strengthen the relationship started through Chaeli receiving this award. We feel that we are part of the global World of Children Award family and are thrilled to be growing this conversation with people who care about making a difference in the lives of differently-abled children in Cape Town.

Just Yell Fire (www.justyellfire.org) has benefited from numerous grants received by winning awards but the one that stands out is The World of Children.
In the nonprofit world money makes things happen, but there are far more important types of "donations" that make nonprofits truly successful. WOC provides both forms of support to the nonprofits they serve through resources, connections, advice, experts, a network for partnerships, smiles, and a real support system. Just Yell Fire has been able to expand its impact to help save girls' lives due to the generosity of the WOC community/family.
Harry Leibowitz & Kay Issacson-Leibowitz are by far the most accomplished individuals who have leveraged their wisdom, experience and connections to help the global community of kids. With grace, style, and wisdom they and their team help nonprofits give kids the things they need to live a safer and better life and in return these kids learn valuable lessons by example. These lessons encourage kids to step up, they are our legacy and will help shape our world for a brighter future.
Receiving the World of Children Award has benefitted my organization, The Sparkle Effect, in countless ways. Along with financial support, World of Children has helped bring national awareness to our cause, connected us with like-minded people who share our passion for social-change, and helped us reach thousands of children with disabilities in the United States. We've only worked with World of Children for 7 months or so, but they already feel like nonprofit family.
I have had the opportunity to see first-hand how the World of Children Award transforms the lives of youth around the world. In 2007, the team honored our non-profit organization Global Youth H.E.L.P. (Health, Education, Leadership Project) Inc. with the Founder's Youth Award and they have been invaluable supporters over the past six years. The team’s hard-work, dedication and passion is truly inspirational. In addition to creating a network of passionate change agents, Harry and Kay Leibowitz personally serve as mentors to each honoree. Every year, I am humbled to meet the new honorees and am extremely grateful to the World of Children Award for their generosity and dedication to serving children around the world.
World of Children is an absolutely wonderful organization that is directly changing the lives of thousands of young people all over the world. Through it's support and huge networks, WOC has helped elevate FUNDaFIELD in incredible ways. We are working with WOC award winners in Haiti, using equipment donated by supporters for our tournaments world-wide, and have children all over the US helping out thanks to the amazing team at World of Children!
I can speak for myself, and all the amazing groups that have been impacted by World of Children, when I say that this truly is the gold standard organization helping children worldwide!
World of Children is a phenomenal organization that is extremely devoted to bettering the lives of others. We received a grant from them last year that enabled us to sponsor the education of thousands of kids. We are so grateful for that. Also, the staff of World of Children made us feel welcomed and loved while in New York for the award event. They all had such kind and energetic personalities. One year after the awards... they still talk to us and spread the word about Empower Orphans. They have helped us get other sponsorships and media coverage as well because of all the contacts they have. In every aspect, World of Children IS a great non-profit for the passion, generosity, and spirit that it has.
As a 2010 recipient of the World of Children Youth Founder Award, I can testify to how World of Children's strategy of honoring, elevating, and educating award recipients really benefits child advocates. In selecting WOC Award winners, the organization using an in-depth review and investigation process. Out of hundreds of nominees annually, nominees are whittled down to a handful of finalists who are then investigated by a private investigation organization the ensures the nominee's work is as it is has been portrayed. This ensures that the winners of the WOC Award are really the best in their field. Winning the award brings a great amount of publicity for award winners which helps spread the word about their mission. Even long after a winner is awarded, WOC works to ELEVATE award recipients by continuing to cover and promote their work, and connect recipients with others in the WOC network who are mission-aligned. WOC also educates award recipients and the community at large about issues facing children. As a youth winner, the organization has connected me with adult humanitarian leaders worldwide working to protect and support the growth of children. My organization, Kids for Peace, has greatly benefited from these connections and has formed partnerships with organizations previously awarded the WOC honor to work together to improve the lives of the most vulnerable children in the world. WOC is a fantastic organization really changing the lives of changemakers who dedicate their lives to making the world a better place for every child.
