World of Children Award sets the gold standard for the nonprofit sector. I was asked to do some freelance work and my world changed! The World of Children Award staff really cares about their mission, to find those that are doing extraordinary things with their talents to assist children in dire need around the world. World of Children Award also makes sure that the Awards are going to do what the Honorees say they are going to do and check in in time to time.

World of Children Award also gives the Honorees (those helping the children) a stepping stone to receive other funding as needed. The general public hears and sees on T.V. what is happening in the world, but until you hear the stories first hand it isn't real. World of Children Award makes it real and want to help.

During my year long self-imposed sabbatical, I was hoping to find a volunteer opportunity that would allow me to be involved with causes advocating for children. And I was able to do just that by volunteering at the World of Children Award office. The team was so friendly, warm and welcoming and eager to have a helping hand - it was like being a part of a family from the get go. Their passion, drive and commitment to make a difference in millions of children across the globe is truly inspirational. There is so much work being done by this small yet mighty team all year long to help spread awareness, raise funds, and engage donors with numerous non-profits that focus on children's education, health, and social well-being. I hope to continue volunteering with this amazing team for many more years to come.

TEAM Changemakers for Children = JOY. I only had a little to give but they took that and multiplied it into strength, courage, hope, smiles and victory changing the lives of hundreds of children forever. Not only that, they also changed my life. Words cant express the impact they have. Your unimaginable accomplishments live on :)

I volunteered at the World of Children Awards this year, and I found the experience to be exceptionally moving. The thing I like best about this organization is there focus on connecting people who are deeply committed to the same end goal: to make the world a better place for children. These connections allow each and every one of these changemakers to do even more good for kids, and that just wouldn’t be possible without the World of Children Award.

I have been volunteering with World of Children for the past three years and continue to be amazed at the work that they do. Every year, they honor people from around the world that better the lives of children. World of Children understands the important work these change-makers are involved in and raises money to provide them with a monetary award so they can continue to help children. This organization ensures that the lives of children all over the world are constantly improving and that hopefully in the near future, where you live will not dictate if you live.

Each week during the summer before my junior year of college I drove an hour to the World of Children offices in Pleasanton. Despite the total commute of 2.5hrs I was always excited to spend my day with the passionate and affable women working behind the scenes. Lynn Naylor, the Executive Director of World of Children, is one of the most enthusiastic, positive and warm hearted people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. In addition to Lynn, I spent each week alongside Jenn Merkel and Annette Andre. Working with this team of women was a constant inspiration. It was an amazing experience to see just how much work is necessary to raise and allocate funds to support other organizations working in various ways to improve the lives of children. Through my research at World of Children I learned a lot about the many non-profits they hold to high esteem as their honorees. It is because of the dedicated work of people like the women I worked with this summer that the World of Children honorees on the ground domestically and abroad are able to continue providing health, education, and safety to so many.
