We are so greatful to be able to help so many women get an outfit to wear to work through WHEAT clothing silo program . They provide a free outfit so that women are able to go to work feeling good about how they look . It has been an honor to be on the board with such wonderful caring people.WHEAT is truly an organization for helping the less fortunate become empowered to be successful in life. All of their programs are run with such grace and ease with great Directional help from Tamera Zivic .

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The warm friendly people I've met

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

so very kind and fun ///keeps you laughing

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand its programs to reach more women and men.

Ways to make it better...

I had more time to get involved

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

getting the word out to the general public

One thing I'd also say is that...

The Director Tamera Zivic is Awhsome

This Non-Profit does a great job in helping to stamp out hunger by empowering women and getting them ready for a meaningful job. There is a training and mentoring program aspect of WHEAT which can lead a woman to work in the retail industry as more than a "shop girl". The educational aspect of WHEAT incompasses learning about FAIR TRADE and the "how and why" it benefits growers and artisans alike. The Director of WHEAT, Tamera Zivic, is a skilled compassionate person with boundless energy who believes that the way to combat hunger is by providing education and job skills so that a woman can work at a living wage.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the way that new trainees come into the Clothes Silo or the Hand to Hand(fair trade)shop and watching them grow. They gain knowledge and become sure of themselves and their skills. It is like watching a butterfly spread it's wings and fly.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

want to see the clothing for "back to work" be expanded to include men. There are plans but the money is lacking. Tamera has a great presentation on this new avenue, and has been able to present it a few times with great interest being shown.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Tamera, and meeting other folks who are working to help women get prepared to find work that will enable them to take care of their families.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

interesting, helpful, and sure of themselves.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

serve so many more people, spread the word about hunger, in crease the services which they now give.

Ways to make it better...

I lived a bit closer and was able to participate in a larger way.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

low level of funding and the current economic situation.

One thing I'd also say is that...

working with WHEAT as a board member has been an educational experience for me and has given me a broader picture of the needs of people in the Phoenix area.
