Women's Global continues to do amazing work in Gulu, northern Uganda. Karen and her team have an inspiring commitment to providing resources and access to leadership opportunities for women and families. In the recent Ugandan elections, 6 women from the program were elected to district or division office - lifting their voices! New parternships have allowed WGEF to grow their programs and provide the additional resources that women have requested. We're excited about the new opportunities in 2016 and beyond!
Women's Global Empowerment Fund is a truly inspiring example of the power of education and sisterhood in building healthy, sustainable, and economically viable communities. WGEF staff and clients work tirelessly to provide opportunities for women leaders in Uganda, always providing high quality resources and services. Cannot recommend WGEF and their work highly enough!
I have been working with this organization in development as of recent, and I feel that I can say without a doubt that this nonprofit is revolutionary. Their ability to be completely focused on the sustainability, independence, and empowerment of their clientele, while simultaneously giving many opportunities to develop multiple key facets of the clientele's livelihood, is unique to say the least. It has been a pleasure so far to work with the organization, and I look forward to being with WGEF while they continue and expand their outreach, support, and empowerment of women and their communities across the globe.
I have worked with Women's Global Empowerment Fund since 2007 to-date, every day that passed I'm more inspired to continue working with WGEF client in Gulu.Seeing women (Clients) representing themselves in small community forums, participating in elective position makes feel that WGEF is doing much more then just a micro-ledning organization. I have and will continue to stand behind all the work that WGEF is doing and sooner it is providing sustainable solutions to communities it serves.
