We.news has become for me one of the authentic sources of objective information on women's issues. Through We.news, I stay abreast of current issues in women's lives across the world. I have found information from We.news useful for teaching and research. Some of the stories of the experiences of women provide vivid illustration for my students interested in 'her story'.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The way it enables my students connect with women they do not know in other parts of the world

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Ensure that it covers more stories from the African continent.

Inspirational and often upsetting. Every day--every single day Women's E-News has a story that makes me catch my breath a remind me that no matter how far we've come, how long the road is. Its not an occasional story slated in among celeb news and foreign dispatched -- it is day in and day out a barometer of women's lives and concerns across the world. Bravo.

As a professional journalist, I find it an extraordinary tool for keeping the compact between me and and all other women.

I have been active in breastfeeding support and advocacy for over 40 years. Things have changed a lot in the media's treatment of this topic in four decades, from a hush-hush attitude in the early days to headline exploitation for titillating the reader today. Women's eNews has been a refreshing change. They cover breastfeeding as the important women's issue it is. They mention breastfeeding when it is relevant in stories on other topics. No sensationalism, no proselytizing, just the facts, presented with respect. This, in taddition to their many other virtues (global viewpoint, coverage of "minority" news and views, Arabic language service, etc.) has made me a loyal reader and contributor.

I have met reporters from Women's eNews at a couple of national conference. I was interviewed once, and I watched the way both reporters covered the territory, very efficiently tending to business, talking to a variety of participants. When I read their articles later, I thought they accurately presented what I had seen happening.

There should be more attention to Women's enews because it tells the truth without hype or distorting the facts. The only time this happens is when the facts are not known by a respective author at any given time, who still does his or her best to record their stories as accurately as possible. Womens Enews is not just for women; no one can be disconnected from women, especially children. In other words, the topics covered in Womens enews are relevant to families and all populations whose lives women touch. I can't think of anyone this leaves out in terms of truthful and current journalism that's timely and as accurate as possible. The more exposure these issues get, the better.

Its accurate reports regarding women in the courts on both sides of the bench, the true stories of what goes on in our country's courtrooms is stranger than fiction. Regular news does not represent how women are regarded in the courts, by other women who either do not know the impact of their actions, or think they are untouchable.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Change the name or format so that its truth in journalism were better and more appropriately exposed.

As a university professor whose fields are history and women's Studies, and the co-author of a college level textbook introducing women's Studies, I find women's enews extremely helpful in keeping up to date across a myriad of breaking stories related to women around the world and in the USA. It gives useful summaries of events, thoughtful analysis of their importance, and calls attention to women's important across the globe. Without it, keeping in touch with these matters would be much more difficult. I applaud the way it is conducted and wish it a long future.

I was a reporter and foreign correspondent for major media for more than 20 years, and wrote many stories about women's second-class status and abuses against them in many countries. These rarely received front-page play and were often cut or languished on hold for several weeks. WomensENews has made such dismissive treatment more or less impossible now by creating a steady drumbeat of compelling and well-researched news items about women's situation that editors cannot ignore or dismiss as isolated cases. The grim reality of too many women's lives is often ignored because it is such an integral part of daily reality. This is what WomensENews spotlights, making it impossible for the world to look away any longer.

I think this website fits the general usage of people having interests on gender issues. It spreads diverse information, covering different regions, different topics, and different communities. Such contribution makes big difference to other members around the world, saying that activists would not only pay attention to First-World issues. This diversity also leads to a little bit chaos. It would be nice if the categorization( together with the arrangement that put categories at the top of it) can undergo some brain-storming.
Otherwise, I love the rich information it has provided me from the very first moment visiting this website. Thanks for the organization behind it.

Every day I read Women's eNews because every day they produce original reporting on issues that concern women. They cover topics and news that other media outlets tend to ignore, and in a world of male dominated news coverage and topics, Women's eNews is the best source for and about women.

The Great!

My knowledge of important information and issues that affect women would not be even half of what it is without Women's eNews.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Make it possible for them to create more than one original piece of reporting per day.

Womens's eNews provides current critical information about the condition of women throughout the world -- including the United States. The issues it addresses and draws attention to generally are those that should receive attention by mainstream media -- but do not. Sadly, issues that affect women -- and families -- are not given the attention that is needed if real-world conditions are to be addressed.
Bravo Women's eNews -- if only other forms/publishers of media wold follow their lead.

Women's eNews is a fantastic resource about current events that are impacting the lives of women and girls. I can always count on them for a good book review, an analysis of a policy initiative, or even a pop culture heads up. I've worked for a women's foundation for 3 years, and I always start my day by checking out what Women's eNews has to offer.

like to see a few more perspectives/articles by men involved with the women's movement.
