As a woman, mom and working journalist, I feel women's enews fills a void in media coverage, searching around the world for the kinds of stories which might go untold. It's an important voice.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

how I think about the abuse of women in developing nations and the issues of black maternal health here at home.

I've been reading Women's Enews since it first began and it is truly the best source for non-mainstream news reporting on women, both within the US and globally. I've also attended the organization's 21 Leaders for the 21st Century awards dinner twice including this past May. Women's Enews provides invaluable recognition for women (and men) serving local and global communities. There is not another organization doing quite what they do to unite and empower women.

Since discovering Women's eNews this past January, my horizons have been expanded. I am so more in tune with the world and the problems facing women today. The articles are so refreshing because they don't tackle the same old stories; they reach out and take hold of your heart and your mind. I now care about issues such as maternal mortality; issues that I knew little about before coming to Women's eNews. Women's eNews also shows great class in the management and success of their events such as the 21 Trailblazers Luncheon and 21 Leaders Gala.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the camraderie between staff and the opportunities given to volunteers.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

passionate and smart women looking to make a difference in the world.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

save women all over the globe, and get a regualr staff of writers.

I read Women's eNews articles frequently. When Lois Abraham and I started 34 Million Friends, www.34millionfriends.org in 2002, I had never heard of Women's eNews. They covered our story. Lois and I were even among the 21 Leaders of the 21st Century for Women's eNews in 2004. I know Rita Henley Jensen quite well. She is totally dedicated to professional journalism and keeping the world informed about the deepest issues concerning women all over the world. Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl Wudunn highly recommend Women's eNews in their best selling ground-breaking book Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. I gladly support Women's eNews every year with a contribution.
