I love Women's E-News for their attention to detail and for bringing forth interesting stories about women that impact women's lives. I always find the articles useful and very much appreciate the positive news, the indepth reporting, and uncovering untold stories. Women's E-News is great. In my role as a website manager, I link to Women's E-news stories frequently.

Women's eNews cares - about women, and not just white feminists - but African-Americans, Arab women, Muslim women around the world. They used to print an edition in Arabic until money woes following the stock crash forced that to fold, but they still do what they can. Editor in chief Rita Henley Jensen has worked tirelessly to develop a series of articles on why black women die more often in childbirth than white women - in America, not just in third world countries. She gets it about white feminists being remote from the worries of women of color and works hard to cross the divides of race and class.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Learning things about the links between infant mortality and race that I didn't know; I use it to research stories of concern to women around the globe - they publish stories others simply don't cover or haven't even heard of.

WomensENews provides me with information and inspiration in a way that no other organization does. The general media tends to ignore the wide world of so called women's issues - which in fact affect the health and wellbeing not only of women, but of families and communities. Educating women raises the socio-economic level of the whole community. Understanding women's issues around the globe is crucial to developing a humane and sustainable world.

I would provide them with more resources. Like many nonprofits, it does its superior work on a shoe string.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

It is a totally reliable source of news about women - generally ignored by the general media and crucial to the understanding of how the world is progressing or not.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Totally dedicated, caring, passionate, professional.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Get the news out to the world and hopefully make a bigger positive difference in the lives of women and families and communities.

Ways to make it better...

Not applicable

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Money, resources and PR

One thing I'd also say is that...

The lack of resources has nothing to do with the professionalism of the organization. It reflects the fact that even in the US, women are still 2nd class citizens - glass ceiling and all.

Women's eNews keeps my spirits up by letting me know of the many other women in the world helping others. They are a great group and should be recognized for all their assistance. Thank you for letting us tell our stories.

We work for women's rights and I consider Woman's ENews to be an indispensable tool on a daily basis. They are always correct re their articles and I think they deserve support. There are very few if any similar sources of women's news.

I love Women's Enews. It is my only source for breaking news and local stories that really focuses on women in a systematic and thorough way. Women's Enews is dogged about finding news relevant to the plight of women. I especially love their Jeers and Cheers section.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Change programming in schools, promote gender equality in schools and communities, create contests to stimulate female involvement.

As a professor I often urged my women's studies students to subscribe to ENEWS - they would discuss what they learned with animation. Women's ENEWS brings stories not found elsewhere to many.

Women's eNews provides great articles that you won't see in other news outlets necessarily. Also, the top article arrives in your email inbox, if you want it to, so you don't have to go searching for the information. It helps me stay on top of important news for women. Fantastic job, Women's eNews!

No one covers women's rights, feminist history and other issues -- with the stories told in women's voices -- the way that Women's eNews does.

Women's eNews is one of the rare breeds of news outlets that dares to cover the issues that women face and are not discussed elsewhere. Women's eNews actually covers breastfeeding as a woman's right, and for that I heartily applaud them. I have been a La Leche League leader and lactation consultant for over ten years. I have faced many of the obstacles new mothers encounter which effectively strip them of their right to breastfeed. As a longtime subscriber to Women's eNews, I wrote several letters to the editors explaining the plight of women who receive no breastfeeding help paid by insurance, and very little accurate information from the medical establishment. Some feminist news organizations that I approached felt that encouraging women to breastfeed might keep them at home. But Women's eNews courageously stepped into the void and gave breastfeeding activists a real voice. Thank you Women's eNews!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

helping to give professionally reported breastfeeding information to others in my work, particularly information on black maternal health.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

be aware that not all mothers want to go back to work and leave their children in day care--that many would like to work part time and have flexible work schedules

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the astonishing things I learned about women all over the world

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all really great and very motivated

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand into other languages, such as Spanish, and spend money on advertising which would further make the information available to women around the world

Ways to make it better...

well sometimes I find the style a little dry

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of capital

One thing I'd also say is that...

Women's eNews is the organization that brings amazing women all over the world together for their gala benefit 21 Leaders which leads to some equally amazing networking
