Over my years of association with Woman Made Gallery, I have been continually impressed with the enthusiasm and dedication to their mission. I have seen the results of their hard work in the quality of their exhibits and support of artists. And I have also seen the appreciation and excitement of the those artists they have helped.

WMG is providing an open stage to women artist that is very unique in Chicago. The staff is very welcoming, warm and supportive. As an artist, it was the first gallery I approached and I was very encouraged by their passion and commitment to art.
I agree with the other posting that WMG is a
social-service "community" with a mission to serve artists and the general public. They do it very well and we hope to keep them around for many years to come.

I have been a member of Woman Made Gallery for over a decade and served as a client, donor, volunteer, and board member at various stages of my involvement. This is one of the only visual arts organizations that provides a safe, supportive place for women to improve their art skills and to display highly professional artwork. The gallery promotes women's issues through the thematic art exhibits. In addition, the environment is so warm and friendly that all who enter feel welcome and supported -- whether you are a woman, a man, an artist, or someone who has simply dropped in to view an exhibit. This is such a special place, and I have watched (and helped) it grow dramatically over the years.

See my review above. I have NEVER been in such a warm, welcoming gallery in my life. It is because Woman Made is not just a gallery -- it is a social-service "community" with a mission to serve artists and the general public. I have witnessed the power of Woman Made to lift up women artists by helping them grow and giving them confidence.

I would make sure it is better funded. This is an outstanding, well-deserving organization. The tiny staff and larger group of volunteers work very, very hard to make this a special place for all who walk in the door.

I am very impressed with this gallery, It serves a much needed purpose in our community by highlighting the work of female artists. Too often we have seen that art of females is not given its equal exposure to the public. We especially find that the management of this gallery works hard to carry out the goals of a gallery - variety of art shown (all classifications shown iincluding crafts) , fairness by giving opportunities to artists to show their work, and the art is beautifully shown in a modern attractive space. The gallery management also tries hard within its limited budget to communcate its existence to the public and works hard to bring the public into its facility.

Woman Made Gallery (WMG) has been a superb support organization to women artist. WMG helps promote quality artist, poetry performances and assist in advancing the knowledge base of women. I am proud to be associated with WMG women, who understands my concerns and goes the extra mile to promote our work as professionals.

The Woman Made Gallery, since its inception, has provided exceptional services to its members. It has provided me the opportunity to have a presence on the Internet that I would otherwise not have.

The Executive Director initially sat down with me to select the images that were place on my
website. She has also encouraged me to update my files.

The Woman Made Gallery has also alerted its membership to any scams directed to artists that have come through email communications.

Woman Made Gallery has played an important role in my growth as an artist and I have witnessed its encouraging effects on scores of women artists who had otherwise found few outlets for their art. It provides a supportive and throughly professional venue for challenging, provocative and interesting exhibits as well as opportunities in fine crafts and poetry. Its workshops further underpin its mission.

Personally Woman Made Gallery was the second place I ever exhibited a work and I will never forget going to the opening and seeing my piece in the window with people spilling out the door. I have gone on to exhibit extensively, both nationally and regionally, and credit Woman Made for being the incubator that it is for women artists.

hire a full-time fundraiser so that it would have more secure funding.

I have participated in two group shows at WomanMade Gallery. Both times, the staff were very welcoming and supportive, and made my experience very enriching. It is very difficult to find galleries in major cities like Chicago who will accept work from unknown artists. I have appreciated WomanMade because not only do they accept work by artists like me, they seem interested in advancing the careers of women in the arts in general. I even received an unsolicited phone call one from the gallery's director, to inform me about an upcoming show that my work would fit well with. In these days of high competition, I very much appreciate this kind of personal interest and support.

Dear Judges,

I am an artist and supporter of the Woman Made Gallery. Recently I showed a few pieces of my work there and the experience was magical.

So many woman are brought together and empowered through this space.

It is one of the strongest artistic pillars in the
country for woman .

I highly recommend WMG for $5,000 prize. They deserve it and so much more.

Warmest Regards,

Jenny Priego

In countless ways, I have experienced the generosity and revolutionary spirit of WMG. The show I was a part of propelled me to continue working as an artist and gave me a voice. It is a safe haven for artists like myself to express my artistic messages and also be nurtured.

The Woman Made Gallery (Chicago) continues to impress me with its dedication to women and the arts. WMG not only sustains and fosters this relationship, but endorses the distinct and creative contributions of women in the arts not only through exhibitions, both domestically and internationally based, but with programs that serve, educate and enrich our community as a whole. As a L.A. artist, WMG has been an amazing addition to my art and personal membership in the art world.
