Wildlife Inc. is my wildlife center. I've worked with them since 1999. They are the only wildlife rehab center in Manatee County that I would work with. The center rescues, rehabilitates, and releases thousands of birds, mammals, and reptiles each year that have been orphaned, sick, injured or any combination of the above, mostly due to human interaction. They offer quality educational programs to schools, and community centers. The center is quite small, yet very focused on their goals to support wildlife in this changing world. The center is of the belief that all life is precious and deserving of compassion and respect for their true nature. My role as a rescue person gives me the daily experience in which all wildlife commands the very best care the center has to offer. I'm so fortunate to be connected to this incredible organization.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

having brought to them, many birds, mammals and reptiles for rehabilitation, and seeing so many of them returned to their homes.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Have a larger facility with more help.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

it has truly given me a better perspective of the animal kingdom.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all wonderfully caring of all of the animals, regardless of their endangered designation. Volunteers are the backbone of the center.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

build a bigger rehabilitation center that would better serve the community, and actually hire people to help instead of relying on volunteers (who are absolutely wonderful - don't get me wrong).

Ways to make it better...

More animals could have been saved. more people could help staff the center to give the founders a break after over 20 years.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

volunteers and money. Volunteers come and go. Any donation to this organization is greatly appreciated, be it food, towels, or best of all money to purchase the proper foods and medicines necessary to facilitate the rehabilitation of the animals.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Wildlife Inc., has changed my world and they are a tremendous force for any wild animal.

Wildlife Inc. is my fourth wildlife center I've volunteered for and by far the most fantastic! They are certainly the wildlife gem of Anna Maria Island and Manatee Co. by far. The center rescues, rehabilitates, and releases birds, mammals, and reptiles that have been orphaned, sick, injured or in combination of the above. They offer quality educational programs to schools, community centers and provide their knowledge and experiences at various fairs and community gatherings. The center is small, exceedingly dynamic and focused on their goals to support wildlife in this changing world. This center encompasses my belief that all life is precious and deserving of compassion and respect for the true nature of the critter. My role as a rescue person and home care to orphaned raccoons for six years now gives me the daily experience in which all native wildlife commands the very best care the center has to offer. I'm so fortunate to be with this incredible organization.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

All creatures are given the very best care and attention. A critter doesn't have to be on the endangered list to recieve one hundred percent of our efforts.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Many volunteers come and go however the ones that stay work so incredibly hard at tasks which are not always pleasant. I dash in and out of the center with critters, donated items etc. The volunteers that are present are always prepared to give a hand.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Find a more suitable home, grow to meet the needs of the current situation and finally be able to hire a financial person to aquire monies to be self sustaining.

Ways to make it better...

If we had more volunteers.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Funding, funding, and funding. We operate on such a limited basis. It gets depressing sometime however Gail says we will continue no matter what happens and that is a boost.

One thing I'd also say is that...

The choices made in the past twenty three years have always been the animals first. With so few hands on board growth has taken a back seat. It is incredibly important that this amazing resouce continue.
