I attend We Spark as much as I can, practically every day. I am recovering from Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplant. Sometimes I am very wobbly and fall down a lot. I take Tai Chi, reflexology, group counseling and all the other classes and discussions I can manage.

I am so grateful
for their help and services. It is such a happy place.

I started going to weSpark in early 2010. Found it on line as I was looking for cancer support groups in my neighborhood. No idea it would become the most important place in my life as I went through cancer treatment.
It is just the best. All the support groups, therapists, treatments,
classes and staff are skilled and caring.
I have recommended it often and will continue to do so.

I have referred many people to Wespark that were dealing with cancer themselves or dealing with a loved one that had cancer, that needed help and direction during this difficult time. Wespark offers much needed services for free to cancer patients and their families. Wespark's care and compassion has made the difference in the quality of life for many.

Without WeSPARK, I wouldn't have made it! Plain and simple. There is no other place where cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, children, anyone at all involved with someone with this miserable disease, that 'gets it', like they do and the other people you meet who are in your situation. It is a kind and loving and very caring place to go when you are at your lowest. Or getting better. Or not. WeSpark is there for you, through support groups, activities, counselors, seminars, educational info. Everything is free no matter what you are doing. Being a survivor of breast cancer was easier to do because WeSpark was right behind me all the way. WeSpark facilitated my recovery. I am eternally grateful to them for the support and love they gave me. We truly need more WeSparks.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The friends I met there.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The people I met in the support group.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

caring and kind and wonderful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Open up several new centers where needed. And that's anyplace where there isn't a cancer support center in the area.

Last year, I lost my brother to brain cancer. He was living in New Jersey. At the time, I was frustrated that weSPARK could not be of help to him. I've been on the Board of Directors of a cancer charity and they could do nothing for him. I only wished he could have been with me in L.A. during his battle. Since then, weSPARK has gone global. We have put many of our services online so that people around the world can benefit from the things that our Sherman Oaks, CA home do daily. This is what our founder WENDIE JO SPERBER dreamed of, and hopefully she is looking down on us smiling.

I have left many reviews of weSPARK in the past. The only thing that is changing is that we are getting better. We are not only expanding our in house programs, we are expanding to an online venture where weSPARK can reach cancer patients, their friends and family nationally and internationally.

weSPARK is a gift that actor and humanitarian Wendie Jo Sperber gave to the Los Angeles area about 12 years ago. This is a place where cancer "warriors", their family and friends can come to get support, information and a place to talk and be heard at no cost at all. I had colon cancer in 1999 and when weSPARK opened, I took advantage of their services. Sure, friends can give you support and tell you what you want to hear, but at weSPARK I was able to talk with people who were going through what I had gone through (always with a professional leader at the helm of our support group meetings). I don't know what I would have done without weSPARK and their incredibly caring and ever present staff. That is why, as a Board Member, I donate so many hours out of my week and as much money as I can to help keep weSPARK alive and thriving. Sadly, Wendie Jo Sperber is no longer with us, but I pray that weSPARK will be here for many years to come.

I could never ask anyone for money for myself, but I have no shame approaching anyone who might have some money for weSPARK. I am so proud to be a part of this organization. Cancer is a tough disease and weSPARK gives people who are afflicted, along with their spouses and children, the tools and strength to bravely battle. Did I say that all services are FREE? Well they are!

I have been a founding member, board member and guest since weSPARK's inception in 2000. As a founding member, I have watched weSPARK grow from a small group of people sitting around our founder Wendie Jo Sperber's dining room table to an organization that helps many people who are battling or supporting warriors against cancer. As a guest, I used the weSPARK facilities as I battled malignant colon cancer. They were literally lifesavers. Asking nothing in return, they gave me the knowledge and hope to get better. And finally, as a board member, I am honored to be able to take part in the day to day fundraising for this incredible organization. It is necessary to so many people in the Los Angeles area. May it last forever or until their is no more cancer in anybody's life.

I was one of the founding members of Wendie Jo Sperber's dream. Little did I know when weSPARK began that I would become a "guest". In 1999, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Surgery followed along with 6 months of chemotherapy. In October, I will be cancer free for 10 years. weSPARK has stayed by my side during these last 10 years with constant support. I don't know what I would have done without them, and enjoy working for them in helping others.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The staff makes you feel totally at home. The weSPARK experience is filled with love, education and compassion.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

become national and not just local. The weSPARK Cancer Support Center would be available to all in need across America.

After being diagnosed with a rare, inoperable, cancer (pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors) I felt sonewhat devestated. The hospital social worker reccomended We Spark in Sherman Oaks for complementary and supportive therapies as well as a variety of support groups and special events. Their services are free to cancer patients AND their caregivers. The people at We Spark have been incredibly helpful and supportive. I go there for yoga, reiki massage, reflexology, meditation, art classes, acupuncture, suppprt group sessions, and more. I am so very thankful for their services that help me physically and emotionally deal with having a rare, slow growing cancer. My doctorscsay they have patients who live 10, 15, 20 years after diagnosis and We Spark will be a part of my life for as long as I am able to go there. Not only have they helped me deal with the emotional trauma of living with cancer, I am convinced that the services they provide have helped my bodyvtake tge best advantage of my cancer treatments. They have fun fundraising events like their annual 5/10 K run/walk on the backlot at Universal Studios, their food truck events, movie premiers, and more. I could never afford the kind of complementary therapies they provide and they never ask for money or donations. It is a joy to go tgere as all of the people in the organization are so caring and supportive. I can't say enough good things about this exceptional nonprofit!

I am 4 months in remission from cervical cancer. I basically went through it on my own. Trying to keep it out of my children's life's. I am SO thankful to all the volunteers and staff at weSPARK!! The support groups, workshops and different healing modalities available are all amazing. I don't think I would have come as far as I have without their support. I have met some amazing people there with many that I know will be lifelong great friends. I feel like I have a place that I fit in and people understand and don't judge. Their commitment to help others has been a great blessing to me.
