Programs: The MISSING Game is Web Wise Kids flagship program for youth ages 11-14. MISSING captures a child's attention in a fun way that another lecture from an adult can never do. Based on a true story, MISSING is an interactive computer game which puts players in the role of a detective. The goal is to find Zack, a boy who spent hours in chat rooms and then disappeared. MISSING gives players the opportunity to safely learn from Zack's mistakes without making similar mistakes in their own lives. The CYBERCOPS Series are two games for youth ages 13-17. MIRROR IMAGE and AIRDOGS prepare teenagers to maintain a higher standard of personal safety and responsibility on the Internet by teaching them how to be their own first lines of defense from online danger. These games use a detective style format where players are challenged to uncover the mastermind behind a cyber crime. In MIRROR IMAGE, issues such as cyber-stalking, modeling scams, chat rooms, online romances and computer viruses are addressed. AIRDOGS teaches teens that online crimes, software piracy, fraud, extortion and bullying, have lifelong legal and social consequences for themselves and their families. Each game in this series can be played in one classroom period and can be put on a school district network.WIRED WITH WISDOM is an interactive program for adults. Today's culture bombards families with new parenting challenges in the field of technology. Making even basic decisions about the family's computer and Internet usage can be a hurdle for parents whose youth are often more Internet-savvy than they are. WIRED WITH WISDOM equips parents to protect themselves online and monitor their children's online activities. The issues addressed include social networking, personal websites, the World Wide Web, chat rooms, instant messaging, e-mail, cell phone dangers, and emerging technologies.Web Wise Kids provides LIVE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT. Part of the effectiveness of Web Wise Kids' (WWK) programs is that they are delivered to children by people they already know and trust, i.e., teachers, parents, and law enforcement officers. The course includes a comprehensive training on all WWK's programs, and thorough background on various Internet hazards, what children are doing online, and how they can learn to safely and confidently use the Internet. To maximize the effectiveness of our programs, WWK uses a train-the-trainer strategy to enable teachers and local police to act as classroom facilitators, able to answer questions, and if necessary, help children report that they may have been the target of an online predator.Web Wise Kids has trained 3,300 Community Partners to more effectively use our Internet safety programs in their area. We are partnering with organizations such as,law enforcement, educators, and youth leaders, to implement WWK's Internet safety programs throughout the U.S., such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America; California Highway Patrol, Northern Division; District Attorneys; Faith Based Organizations; Polly Klaas Foundation; Salvation Army; and School Resource Officers.
