I worked in radio for many years before moving to South Florida. I can attest to the very special treasure we have in WDNA-FM. The straight-ahead Jazz nicely seasoned with Latin and Caribbean music is a perfect blend not only for our unique community, but also for the changing demographics of our dynamic country. I am especially proud of what WDNA has accomplished in the Jazz radio idiom. I support it with my donations, I hope you will to. This is a unique channel that suits us perfectly. Please help keep WDNA alive and thriving. Carlos Pagán Radio Lover

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

..the quality of my daily music listening; music that is very hard to find else where. This unique radio jazz format is incomparable to other jazz station offerings, even on the the world wide web!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

.. Add more a little more swing and smile to the notion of "serious jazz." Skip Lozama does this so does Gary Ferguson and Mel Lipton and others I know I am forgetting. Frank Consola is terrific when he does not go into the very avant garde.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Waking up weekend mornings to fun and easy swing be it in straight-ahead, Caribbean or Latin jazz. It's the perfect way to ease into the weekend. If "attitude is everything," as they say, then WDNA is my perfect attitude adjustment.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

..all terrific personalities both on and off-air.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

..buy stronger radio signal capabilities to reach beyond Miami-Dade County a wider audience of jazz lovers through out South Florida.

Ways to make it better...

..there were a little less "exclusive" block programming. I don't need to hear just Latin music during any program block. This is coming fro a Latin music lover that likes a variety of jazz, with the exception of extremely avant-garde "Free" jazz.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding for an musical art form that is at-risk because of generational attrition and short falls in musical education in our public schools.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I appreciate the efforts the station has made to discourage the superfluous amount of long DJ chatter in breaks, giving the valuable air-time back to the excellent music programming: the reason most of us tune in.

WDNA is the best. I did an interview with Andy Harlow about my latest CD, Timbasa, and it was a blast. Andy was on time, welcoming and intelligent in his questions and responses. He picked just the right tracks from the album to give my music the most impact. This is my second interview. I had a live interview some time ago. And was treated like family. As an artist who relies on WDNA to make my music available in Miami, I couldn't be happier with everything and everyone from WDNA. Mark Weinstein, Jazz Flutist

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

absolutely top notch professionals

The best of all possible worlds; great jazz, great reggae, great brazilian music and so much more. Did I say great jazz? The greatest! I gladly volunteer for any and all events where I can be of use to this wonderful musical resource. Also the news from the BBC! They fill a true need in my community where the sirwaves are cluttered with banal overplayed "hits".

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My love of jazz music and music in all its' many forms has been enriched by listening to WDNA. The DJ's are not paid drones, they love the music, they study the music, they care about the lives of the artists, they are true connoiseurs of jazz.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Learning more and more about the music, be it jazz by americans, cubans, europeans, latins in general, brazilians and so many more. The reggae show is quite possibly the best and longest running in South Florida.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Dedicated to the music and to the station. Professionals in their fields who loved music and were willing to work for less pay in order to do what they loved. The volunteers I met have all worked for the love of the music.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Broadcast throughout more of South Florida instead of their present limited range. I often sit in my car listening rather than enter my home and lose the signal. I have found myself going out of my way when listening to a great set.
