Washburn Center for Children works hard to incorporate health lifestyles for the children who attend its services. Employees are always looking for better ways in which they can educate themselves about their surroundings and the children's lives in order to be able to help them appropriately.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Learning more about the company through volunteering, internal meetings and meeting other employees. Also in research and gaining better insight about how successful Washburn is with the children and families.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Create a greater market for its services. I think this is a great program that everyone should know about. If Washburn's services were known through out more communities, I think it would gain many more families and hopeful children.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Everyone works hard! The key component to all our work is to always help others.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Very helpful and nice. It is easy to create conversation and hear different kinds of inspiring experiences.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Build a new facility creating and lager space for more children and families. Advertise to every community and/or even make another facility to incorporate even more communities and families.

Ways to make it better...

I was able to work directly with the children. However, it is great to see the results of my work with the fundraisers.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The fundraising and sponsorships. We work hard to create revenue to produce the kind of support that we need.

One thing I'd also say is that...

It has been a great experience being with Washburn so far. I can see why these kinds of services are important to our communities and for our children's future. Everyone should participate!

As an intern at Washburn, I was able to work closely with various staff members working to improve the lives of children. My experience with Washburn diversified my experience as a professional and has opened many doors for my future.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

witnessing the children in the Outreach and Family Focus programs be successful in their environment.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the opportunity to work with children on a weekly basis. Spending time with Washburn has not only given me the opportunity to gain experience in the field but it has also had such a great impact on the lives of the children living in our community.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

amazing, caring and loving.

I was supported by staff to grow professionally during my Masters program as well as personally. I have learned how to acknowledge and better communicate feelings to others which provides a more enjoyable and honest work environment.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have watched children develop within the loving, supportive care of a therapeutic classroom. I have seen three year olds who can not eat or speak at a one year old level due to neglect or abuse develop skills necessary to survive and thrive in the world

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

experiencing diversity and growing professionally and personally.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

friendly, encouraging, REAL.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

better serve the metro area - there is a constant need to serve children.
