The Warrick Dunn Family Foundation is dedicated to providing opportunities for economically-disadvantaged single parents and children who have demonstrated a commitment to achieve financial independence and stability.

WD-FF has rewarded more than 100 single parents and 270 children.

Target demographics:

economically-disadvantaged single-parent families

Direct beneficiaries per year:

Minimum of 9 single-parent families

Geographic areas served:

Atlanta, Ga., Baton Rouge, La., Tampa and Tallahassee, Fla.

The Homes for the Holidays (HFTH) program transforms the lives of single-parent families by rewarding hard work and recognizing individuals who are actively improving their lives by achieving first-time home ownership. The desired outcome of HFTH is to give single parents an opportunity to establish a positive home environment where their children can thrive educationally, socially and economically. HFTH rewards single parents who have demonstrated financial independence by pursuing and accomplishing the American Dream of first-time home ownership. Through a closed nomination process with Habitat for Humanity, single parent homebuyers are selected. Aaron's Inc., volunteers and community partners step in to completely furnish each home with appliances, furniture for each room, kitchen supplies, linens, groceries, electronics, books, cleaning products and home decor. Recipients are presented with $5,000 in down-payment assistance and a fully furnished home during a formal presentation at their new residence, helping them lower monthly mortgage payments and alleviate the debt often associated with making a house into a home. The HFTH program transforms the lives of single-parent families and first-time homebuyers by providing the tools to create a stable and happy home.

My daughters & I were a recipient back in 2001 and I have to say that was an amazing blessing as well as Warrick being our Angel. I also had some opportunities to be a volunteer and do the same for other families. What the WDF does for single parents & children can not be replaced with anything greater.

As for me and my daughters this has allowed us to grow and develop into a stronger family with many great memories.

In 2010, my nonprofit Let The Kids Play requested to this exemplary foundation a donation for our silent auction. Within one week we were presented with several autographed items that were sold with enough raised to help 5 kids play a youth sport.

The best thing of all was not getting the donation but rather the way our organization was treated. We all felt like family and the continued passion for what they do and what we do oh so obvious.

It is not every day that we even get what we request and thankfully Warrick Dunn and his foundation truly are "Family" focused.

Thank you so much.

Left me breathlesss...I cried so much!! Never in a million years would I have thought that I'd be receiving such an incredable gift! Being a single parent is hard work and lots of times goes unrewarded. This organizations deed not only touched my soul but looked out for the entire household....everyone was left floating on cloud 9!
Thank you to EVERYONE involved in every aspect of WDFF!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the area of giving freely and never asking for anything in return. They have made every household that they have assisted very happy. WDFF has taken the burden off of the head of household. The initial down payment on the new home, furnishing, food, accessories...etc.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Increase the area that I serve eventually going international. Start a college scholarship fund, prevention classes for the children living in these household so that they can be better equipped mentally, socially, economically. Support groups, peer groups.
