Invite reviews
This Foundation is a group of people that have helped 100's if not thousands of Veterans and active Military. They help with life saving utilities, Transportation , Food, Wheelchairs, have put new televisions in the hospital rooms with satellite so the Veterans can watch sports, movies, ect. You cannot ask for a better caring group than these Volunteers.

i wish all schools were to teach of who is a veteran is .
I have been involved with this foundation for a few years now and have seen how these funds have helped our men and women of the arm services that have and are still doing to protect us. If it was not for them we would not have such a great country, I feel honored to be part of this committee to show we care and love the freedom for which they have sacrifice so much. I have put in many hours to help raise funds so that this foundation may be able to do the wounderful things it has been able to do. I wish our vets didn't need a foundation like this , but yet I am grateful this foundation is there for them , my dad is a vet and this foundation has also saved my life since i'm disabled and retired,it has given me something to strive for in giving something back to those who put their life in harm's way to protect me, yet they don't even know me but still are willing to do so.

I have been involved with this organization for two (2) years thanks to a close friend that was, and still is, very dedicated to it. At the beginning I knew some of what this organization's work was, but soon learned that what they provided to the veterans was far beyond what you could imagine be accomplished by a small group of individuals. This is a group of extraordinary people who have accomplished so much over the years to help the veterans who pass through the doors of the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Hospital. Funds generated by this group have provided items large and small for the veterans' needs at the hospital - from replacement television remotes, telephones, wheelchairs and a transporter unit to funding/support of programs which would have been cut/eliminated due to government cutbacks and helping with housing issues encountered by our veterans. The organization's slogan " If you love your freedom, thank a vet" is very true - but it is also true that actions speak louder than words and that is what this group of people is about. They don't just talk about helping, they get out there and do something to ensure our veterans receive the proper care they are entitled to for having served this country.

It has been my priveledge to be a part of the Volunteers For Veterans Foundation for several years now. The amount of hours that Larry and Betty and the group put in is staggering, but the rewards are great. Its a wonderful feeling to know that all of our efforts go towards helping our Vets with the needs that they have.

The Volunteers for Veterans Foundation was formalized just last year, however, their work has been going on for the past 20 plus years. The support shown to our Veterans through this Foundation is beneficial to long time Vets and to those returning from recent conflicts. I am proud to be affiliated with this group as a volunteer. The Committee members and volunteers work hard at raising funds toward providing services for Vets in need and their families.

This has been a very rewarding experience for my brother, myself and now our children. We have learned the importance of acceptance and gratification of helping others, especially those that have served to protect our country. We both have worked with our parents on the Veterans Car Show, and now enjoy taking our children to the show. I have so much respect for the Volunteers for Veterans Foundation. I know that this foundation works all year long to raise money to help the Loma Linda VA Center and our Veterans. Both our parents have worked for over 15 years to help our veterans. Thanks for all you do, we love you Amber volk Ornelas

This has been a very rewarding experience for both myself and my 9 year old daughter. She is learning the importance of acceptance and gratification of helping others, especially those that have served to protect our country. We look forward to it every year, she even enjoys being there at 5:30 in the morning.

FOR THE LAST 19 YEARS MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF HAVE BEEN HONORED TO BE PART OF THE "VETERAN'S CAR SHOW COMMITTEE". THIS GROUP OF DEDICATED PEOPLE WORK ALL YEAR TO PUT ON A ONE DAY CAR SHOW THAT HAS RAISED MONEY TO SUPPORT OUR VETS. EVERY PENNY RAISED IS DONATED TO OUR VETS. THE VETERAN'S HOSPITAL IN OUR COMMUNITY CONSULT WITH OUR BOARD TO MAKE US AWARE OF THE NEEDS OF THE VETERAN'S AND WE OFFER ASISTANCE WITH THE MONEY WE RAISE. SOME OF THE THINGS WE HAVE DONATED TO THRE VETERAN'S ARE TELEPHONES IN THE ROOMS AT THE HOSPITAL,A NEW ABULANCE THAT CAN TRANSPORT THE VETERANS WHEN THEY NEED TO TRAVEL TO OTHER FACILITIES FOR CARE, ASSISTANCE TO VETERANS JUST RETURNING FROM ACTIVE DUTY AND ARE UNABLE TO PAY RENT OR UTILITY BILLS AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON. OUR MEN AND WOMAN IN UNIFORM NEED OUR HELP. OUR GOAL IS TO LET THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES KNOW THEY ARE APPRECIATED FOR ALL THEY DO AND SACRIFICE. "IF YOU LOVE YOUR FREEDOM,THANK A VET"

I am on a Committee that has raised over $1,200,000.00 for our Vets in Loma Linda V.A. hospital in the last 19 years. It started with one man's dream on helping our Veterans in the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Hospital in Loma Linda and has grown the this: This year October 3, 2010 will be our 20th year. I was thinking if you could take a look at some of our info on the Internet and if you like what you see, how a one day Car Show can raise $ 300,000.00. And have a great time doing it. October 2009 LOMA LINDA, Calif. - - The Annual Veterans’ Car Show will celebrate its 19th year on Sunday, Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center in Loma Linda. All proceeds from the show will benefit patient care programs at the VA medical center. Over 1200 custom vehicles are expected in the parking lots of the medical center located at 11201 Benton St. The Veterans’ Car Show also features auto-related vendors and displays, drawings, bingo, pancake breakfast, music, refreshments and veteran benefit information that will make the day a fun filled event for the entire family. The winner of a 1967 Camaro Convertible will be drawn on show day. Spectator admission is free. Originally conceived by deceased Vietnam Veteran Mike Wilburn, the Veterans’ Car Show has become the largest single fundraising event at the medical center. This is my Experienc,Our Committee spends every weekend going out to Car shows and selling Tickets to the Give away Car all year long. We are not just talking a few people we are talking a committee of 25 that takes turns on each and every weekend that our Give Away car goes out. We are committed to making this October 3dr 2010 Show the best. It a great feeling to know you are doing something good for someone who fought for our Freedom. Both of my Young Adult sons volunteer with me as much as they can. My wife is right next to me each and every time.
