As one of the oldest missing children's organizations in the US, VCA is rich with experience and passion. Those involved provide empathy and guidance to searching parents as well as those parents who seek to prevent their children from going missing. I learned a lot from VCA, and will carry my experience from VCA with me into my professional and personal life. An amazing organization, please support them!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the people. each one of them possess qualities that in turn run VCA with passion and determination.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

assist the casework department in accessing more resources to assist searching families in finding their missing children, and assist the outreach department in expanding their prevention program.

I have had the pleasure of working with the Vanished Children's Alliance (VCA) for several years now. They have been fantastic in providing training and materials to our agency (law enforcement) so that we can be better equipt to talk with the public about maintaining a safe enviroment for children to avoid being abducted, a parent's worst nightmare. I have never had a problem with any employee of the organization and would encourage anyone reading this to check out their website.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The comments received by the parents.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very helpful.

This is an organization where you can tell that people honestly care. Each and every staff member's heart is in this cause and they show it by the support they give to searching families, by the assistance they give to law enforcement, and the services they offer to the community.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the people and the dedication to keeping all children safe and bringing missing and abducted children home.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

obviously dedicated and really care about the children behind the cause. Each missing child is just that...a missing child...not just a case number.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand its abduction prevention program to present across the country.

I have seen presentations done by their Outreach staff and they were amazing! The presenter made an effort to keep the presentation age-appropriate and interesting for the kids. She was quick to acknowledge kids' opinions and made an effort to validate them (and guide them to a better answer when neccessary). If I were still in the classroom, I would schedule this group again!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

students enjoyed the presentation and continued to talk about it afterwards

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the presenter was efficient, she showed up on time and had everything she needed to make the presentation a success

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

well organized and professional

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

do so much for children!

Ways to make it better...

presenter had had more time to spend with the kids...the packets she distributed had so much information..it is hard to cover it all.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

exposure. Prior to the presentation, I had never heard of VCA.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I worked for this organization for over a year. Even though I moved on my heart is still in this organization to this day. This is a non-profit where you can really feel the care, intention, and mission being lived out everyday by the staff, board members, and supporters. When a child goes missing, it is THEIR child too. When an organization wants to learn more about abduction safety, it becomes their mission to teach them. They are a staff of very few people, but the heart of millions. I would do whatever they asked of me because I believe in VCA.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the children who have been located because of VCA, in the faces of families who never gave up hope, in a person's face when they have learned the power of prevention, in the face of the donors who see their money working for a tangible goal.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

start a more grassroots approach to funding, get its name out in the community, and work towards the community supporting a worthy cause like this.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the staff...they are amazing.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dynamic, wonderful, smart, intuitive, magnanimus, loving, inspirational...saints.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

be even better and be able to accomplish all the things they strive to do.

Ways to make it better...

I would have stayed. I never regret moving on, but a pice of me sstays there.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

money and recognition

One thing I'd also say is that...

if people would stop to notice them, they would see a rare thing...a non-profit that truly cares and has not lost sight of their mission.
