Upward bound house is an organization of smoke and mirrors, nothing is what it seems. Clients are harassed intimidated, and forced into situations they dont want to be in. All the wonderful donations, most dont reach donors (especially if its too nice, it gets sold on E bay or another staffer takes it home.) The staff, with the exception of maybe two people are.vile human beings, talking about clients bad, yelling at clients, and in general, not helping peiple. Soms standouts are Paula Brooks, the so called Housing coordinator whi doesnt do anything gossips about clients, and regularly takes out personal vendettas on clients, even causing some to lose their housing. They smile in your faces donors, and if they feel like you have too much money or fame, clients have to close their doors when your around, so you cant see or talk to the people your helping. So please go to family place, ask the CLIENTS if they are happy, and how they are being treated. You will be suprised what you hear....

Can't get much better than helping families and seniors get out of a hole. However, this organization not only offers a place to live but provides a community to achieve a sense of stability for people who need it. I love being involved in any way.

Upward Bound House is a gem. This unusual organization provides housing and services to homeless families with kids in a way that keeps the families intact, restores the family's sense of dignity and self-worth, and guides them back to self-sufficiency. They do this in a way that engages the community, with a special emphasis on the kids. All of this results in success for the families they work with.
