Counselors who have each completed over 100 hours of training each. It teaches participants teamwork and perseverance throughout a physically and mentally demanding 4 day, 26 mile hike to the peak of San Gorgonio in the San Bernardino Mountains. Participants are given responsibilities during the hike that help them build leadership and outdoor survival skills, in addition to an overarching theme of environmental awareness and conservation. Upon returning from the hike, W.A.L.L. campers use their newly acquired skills to mentor and serve as role models to the younger campers.
