I have been priveleged to work with this great
organization via a Twitter message. Little did I know
being a part of making a wish come true would
change my life. Megans wish to swim with the dolphins
In Key Largo Fl was an amazing journey for Megan
and her family, and I was
able to capture those
priceless moments permanently. John and
Bobbi and their crew are totally dedicated
individuals and we can only hope they continue
their journey. Barbie Wilson, Key West Fl

Journey of Hope came into my life thru the power of a tweet on Twitter. I was invted to photograph Megan from VA who has Aicardi-Goutiersa syndrome. Her wish was to swim with dolphins. Meeting John and Bobbi and Megan and her family truly changed my life. I met some incredible people doing incredible things thru Journey of Hope. I still get goosebumps remembering the smile on Megans face, and the incredible experience the dolphins had on all of us. Thanks to Dolphins Plus in Key Largo, Journey of Hope and Megans family, I will never forget the time we spent together. Thank you for letting me a special part of Megans wish.. Sincerely... My name is Jack Evans and I have a radio talk show on WMBS 590 in Uniontown, Pa. Unity has been guests several times and they always generate many calls of support and praise. I reach hundreds and hundreds of people and I am stop in public by listeners who tell me how wonderful Unity is. I had a company call me and they then gave a donation to Unity. They could only do this because Unity is a non-profit. Unity must keep their status.

Unity actually went above and beyond their usual mission (helping adults with life limiting illness) this year with journey's mission. Unity volunteers and good samaritans collected numerous items for staten island and rented a large box truck and drove it to staten island...In this truck were countless needed items including, full size deoderant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, bar soap, bath gel, lotion, antibacterial gel, face cleasner, makeup remover, shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, razors, shaving gel, female sanitary products, diapers, cleansing wipes, as well as hotel sized items of all the previous items. Brand new socks, gloves, winter coats, hoodies, hats, scarves, as well as used brand name items. Jeans, new undies, bras, sweats, etc. Blankets, bed sheets, dog bedding, dog blankets, dog/cat toys, food bowls, animal shampoo, 50lb,20lb,and 12lbs bags of pet food, kitty litter, leashes etc. There were lots of house cleaners, bleach, sponges, brushes, 300pairs of work gloves, toliet cleaners, floor cleaners etc. Glucometers, first aid products, medications such as cold meds, tylenol etc. Shoes, boots, children and baby clothing. Baby items and care products, diapers! Then don't forget the food items! Some store donated 200 loaves of bread, large boxes of stuffing, etc. Bobbi and John are also going to go buy turkey(s) with donation money. Many generously gave! Go Unity!
Unity a journey of hope works hard to provide a free service in this area. There literally are very few groups (if any) that grant wishes to adults with a life limiting or terminal illness. They also adopt a family for operation christmas wish and will work hard to fufill wishes of US veterans. This is a small local group with no big connections so you can imagine how hard they work to grant wishes that involve celebrities. The only payment they need is to see the smile on the wish recipients faces!

The founders of unity spend every waking moment and many hours of free time to try to make wishes possible and live up to their motto "changing 1 life 1 wish at a time." Unity grants wishes to adults 18 and older that have life limiting illness, free. They have granted over 60 wishes from meeting celebrities, to pulling together a real wedding in 3 days, to helping with obtaining medical supplies.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I recently gave the information to our d/c planner at the hospital I work at. We had a female 18 who was diagnosed with Huningtons Correa and life exp was 2yrs left to live. I hope the family uses the information to give her a happy day where she can be a happy 18yr old.

Unity has existed now for 5 1/2 years changing lives along the way. Giving HOPE when hope is ripped away by a life-limiting illness. Unity changes the focus and helps create memories that transcend time.
Wishes that include family are my favorites. Seeing families bond, laugh, smile and
realize even if for a
minute or a day that LIFE is worth living and they all get to share. Do I wish Unity was bigger...YES...
Do I wish Unity has a million dollars...YES... Do I wish for corporate sponsorship...YES... UNITY is truly blessed in more ways than one and my 3 wishes in no way are a measure of success, because each wish we do DOES change lives, creates memories and creates a purpose. Is UNITY a SUCCESS...YES... and wont you join UNITY and help us "Change lives, 1 wish at a time..."

Unity grants wishes to adults w/a life-limiting illness. They are small but the wishes they grant are life-changing. They give HOPE when hope is ripped away by such an illness. Changing the focus is what Unity does. They are a great organization and accountable. I would donate to them ipo a HUGE national charity.

Unity grants wishes to adults w/a life-limiting illness. UNITY not only grants the wish but Unity also changes the FOCUS off of the dis-ease to the wish. UNITY gives HOPE where none is an option. UNITY gives people the inner strength to persevere in the eyes of adversity. UNITY also grants wishes to veterans, Unity also has Operation Christmas Wish, and Unity also leases for FREE Medical Equipment for people to use. I love the joy it brings. Write a review, view the website and share the joy!

A close friend says "I want you to go to a meeting with me". "What kind of meeting?" I ask. "You'll see" she responds. When we get there we are welcomed with warm embraces and many thank you's for coming. They don't know who I am, but treat me as if they have known me forever. John and Bobbi Robinson treat everyone that way. They pour there heart and soul into every wish and treat each one as if it is the most important wish they have ever been asked to do. They are truly loving and giving people and it shows in this wonderful charity they have created. Unity, A Journey of Hope is their life. Every volunteer mirrors thier enthusiasm. I am proud to say that I am a part of Unity!

Life's path can lead you in many different directions, and for me it lead me to Unity, a Journey of Hope. A close friend asks me to accompany her to a "meeting". Not sure what I'm in for I reluctantly go with her. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. The founders and volunteers there were so passionate about their cause, I couldn't help but want to become a volunteer! The wishes they have granted astounds me and the time, effort and heart they put into each and every wish is, without a doubt, amazing! I am so proud to be a part of Unity and I am so thankful that life's path (and my friend) led me to this wonderful organization. I feel blessed to have met all the people that make Unity, a Journey of Hope what it is....a true blessing to those that need it most.

Unity-A Journey of Hope's founders work morning, noon and night to grant the wishes of Adults . John and Bobbi grant wishes sometimes in a matter of hours when the need occurs. They give their time and expertise to do things that, when you hear what they've done with the little money they have to work with,, you shake your head in disbelief. There is such a great need in our area for these wonderful wishes. They not only help Fayette County residents but all the surrounding counties. Without Unity, many adults will miss out on a final experience that makes them smile when their Soul is leaving for it's final destination.

I am in awe of Unity- A Journey of Hope. John and Bobbi Robison and their volunteers put wishes together in hours that woud take most of us days or weeks. As a hospice nurse, John truely sees the difference one small thing can make to someone on that final Journey and also the family. Bobbi really goes above and beyond with the little details that make a difference. Things the reciepient may not have even asked for. They are the Top of The List Non-profit for so many, not just in our area , but across the country !!!

I have small cell lung cancer, a cancer that spreads quickly and is quite deadly. I try to live life to the fullest, continuing to work and do things that I enjoy. I am a huge Steelers and Pirates fan, I run a facebook page called We Support Hines Ward, and have been honored to do work on his career highlights for his website. Being the fan that I am, I desperately wanted to see Hines Ward receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Dapper Dan. Thanks to Unity I was able to have my wish granted!! It was the most wonderful and incredible night, and I am so thankful to them for making sure I had my wish. I can't say enough great things about them!

April 29, 2013

Why would you take this great non-profit off your list? THAT is just wrong. These people work day in and day out to serve dying people. No it doesn't get lots of publicity. SO WHAT? Why is that a requirement to do good work? Every day they are on the phone looking to grant someone's wish. EVERY single day. Looking for people who can donate 10 minutes of their time to fulfill a wish of a lifetime . Looking for a sympathetic hotel chain or an airline or publicity dept. You should seriously rethink your protocols if that is what they are. Look at their web page, look at their Facebook page and see wishes granted and dare to say they are not among the most selfless giving people you can find. They are a great organization and deserve ANY support you can give them, whether it is looking for something a recipient needs, or arranging a trip or a visit with one of their heroes.

These people are heroes. They grant wishes to dying adults to make a dream come true. They give of their time, their income, their respect, and their love. They NEVER say something can't be done, but who do we call, who do we know who cares, how can we help this person fulfill a dream? Its not easy asking companies to give a free room for the night, an airline free tickets, a star to do a meet and greet but again and again they get people to come thru because remind them of the truly important things in life: love - family - dignity - and how they would hope to be treated in similar circumstances. This past weekend they arranged for someone to meet Bruce Springsteen, they arranged a marriage and reception for a dying man and his girlfriend in I think 3 days. The list goes on and on. I wish I had some skill to offer them, but I don't, so I re-post their stuff everywhere I can because what they do is precious, a life-changing act of love. They make a difference in someone's life EVERY SINGLE DAY. We are blessed to have these people in this world.
