Despite the rave reviews, there exist an under current of racism. The clients are well aware of how it is employed, yet say nothing for fear of termination from the program. I will say that time and practices would reveal a very different director than first impression would have it. Everythng that glidders isn't gold.

Relatively open minded perspective and have concluded that the program is desperately needed, but needs new blood. The truth is obvious if you look closely at it. I pray for you Sheila.

black and white residents were treated equally. It was obvious that whites recieved better treatment than blacks. Sheila was very nice to us all, but this was a cover up for her personal failures.

Earl's Place is one of my favorie local charities.I have met several of the clients in recent years and they all have a very inspiring story to tell. They speak of the how United Ministries has gotten them back on their feet after an extremely hopeless outlook.

Earl's Place is a favorite of our family's because of the wonderful way that it is organized and run, because of its obvious successes, and because it was very close to my mother's heart. She believed that many of the men there face challenges similar to those that faced my uncle, her little brother. It is so good to know that our contributions are helping someone to find their way in the world again.

As a volunteer and donor and professional with experience in this area, I thought this was superbly done. The residents seem happy and on their way to a full recovery. I thought that the Executive Director, Sheila Helgerson, was responsible for how well Earl's Place was doing as a result of her personality and people skills.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

United Ministries is a highly committed and successful organization that is best known for Earl's Place, a transitional housing program for homeless men. If you meet some of the men served by this program, you will understand the tremendous value it generates for the men and the community.

This group is fantastic. Earl's Place transforms lives! The men often go to school, get jobs, and reconnect with their families. The staff does a super job relating to them.

I continue to be vastly impressed with the level of care offered to the men living at Earl's Place. It is a true home, a place where there is great comfort, honesty and understanding. One need only to walk through the door and speak with one of the residents to see how great opportunity to turn things around in their lives is given to the residents.

Easily one of the best-run charities I ever have encountered. Very low overhead and a sincere commitment to helping people in need make this my top choice for GREAT Non-profits.
