United Food Bank is an amazing group of people--it does so much with so little! 98% of money coming in goes towards services and programs--getting food out to UFB's member agencies and providing food-filled backpacks for schoolkids on Fridays, and many other programs. UFB is able to do all this work because they have very dedicated staff, and many volunteers. If you donate $1.00, you will be providing 4.5 meals for hungry people in their service area--because UFB can leverage the money you give and make it go so much further! It amazed me when I found out that 1 in 4 kids in Arizona is food insecure--not knowing where their next meal will come from. (the situation is almost as bad for Seniors). UFB especially needs money and food donations when the holidays are over--many people give to food banks around Thanksgiving or Christmas. The need is great all year round....any donation will go very far!

I have sent many of my co-workers and others that needed affordable and nutritious food. One of many programs that this organization offers is the purchase of a low cost box of food. This helps families that have had to cut back dramatically on their food budget in order to pay other bills. This helps the family that lost their only source of income due to layoffs. This food box often is the only food a family is able to purchase for their household. United Food Bank is an asset to the the 5 counties it serves with its variety of programs.

The Great!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Get more people involved!

This is an organization that is making a huge positive difference in Arizona. UFB supplies many nonprofit organizations that feed thousands of hungry families in Arizona. The organization is well run and every effort is made in sharing as much money from donations to the people that need it. If you are looking for worthy cause, that is making a huge difference on many families in Arizona, please contact them.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

provide them with additional funds so they can increase their marketing and make more people in Arizona aware of what a positive inpact the organization is making.

United Food Bank (UFB) is an efficient, client-friendly, forward-looking organization that provides food for local agenies to distribute to their clients. UFB has adopted several innovative procedures such as conducting a nutrient analysis of their food in order to offer high nutrient foods; they reorganized their food pick-up and delivery schedules to lower gasoline expenses and staff time; and they have expanded their network of grocer donors. UFB managers and staff are always open to new ideas. If you, your family, or your "group" are ever looking for a valuable community project, United Food Bank is an ideal agency to partner with!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Watching their volume of food distriution and # of persons served go up, year after year; seeing their expenses per pound of food distributed go down; seeing their ability to secure financing for a larger food warehouse.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

nothing really to change!
