I stayed at Union Station homeless shelter from December 3, 2015 through part of the last Sunday of Advent in December 2015, which is traditionally supposed to be a day of alms giving for the Episcopalian Church and the Church of England, which are supposed to be overseeing Union Station homeless shelter and also other homeless shelters and charities associated with Episcopal Charities and other entities that hold out with a Church of England and/or Episcopalian moniker.
Guess what? No alms were given at all from what I can tell that had anything to do with the Union Station homeless shelter during the entire length of my stay. In fact, nothing at all related to the purported social justice ministry of All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, CA, which is affiliated with Union Station homeless shelter where I stayed, took place.
Ed Bacon, the rector at All Saints Episcopal Church, has taken up giving spiritual counseling to the likes of Oprah Winfrey in the past few years. Perhaps he would be better off explaining things like why his church, and, therefore, Union Station Homeless Services, does not have any IRS tax forms 990-BF posted on this website or available for public inspection, as is required by law--I, myself, have asked for such forms--even though All Saints Episcopal Church got in trouble in 2006 with the Bush Administration for preaching politics, which preaching ostensibly threatened the church's, and, therefore, its affiliated entities' non-profit tax or other filing statuses in the case of affiliated entities that were and are not non-profits.
One might also want to inquire of a journalist like Oprah Winfrey how she chose a spiritual counselor like Ed Bacon without doing any sort of background checking, which journalists are supposed to be good at, on All Saints Episcopal Church and its affiliated charities and funders.
What would Ms. Winfrey have found? Among other things, she would have found this: E. Trussell, a former Citibank lawyer who is now with a family organization that is supposed to have to do with environmental engineering, may have committed banking fraud on her former employer, Citibank, when she and family members acquired funding to buy a property in Pasadena that they own that is now held illegally under a specious limited liability structure that is illegal.
A bank is only supposed to fund a correctly incorporated business entity or a legal person or persons for a mortgage or other instrument used to purchase real property. Which bank or banks funded the Trussells' purchase of their property in Pasadena which is illegally held under California, local and federal law in a specious and legally inappropriate corporate entity?
Why might inquiring minds want to know this? Because Ms. Trussell is one of the lawyers on Union Station Homeless Services board who may be giving bad and actually illegal advice to the board and, therefore, to All Saints Episcopal Church, the Episcopal Diocese, the Episcopal Church and the Church of England and others as related entities.
I had a full tenancy at law at Union Station, and was illegally evicted. The staff committed mail fraud and also identity fraud on me.
They stole my Citibank banking statements, my California state picture I.D., my Access Services disabled transit pass, and a California court order issued on April 24, 2015 by Judge Ross M. Klein in Long Beach, CA changing my legal name. They further stole thousands of dollars of medication from me that was given to me by the Bristol Myer Squibb Patients Assistance Foundation, and over a thousand dollars worth of pulmonary equipment that I acquired in November 2015 just weeks before my arrival at Union Station. They also stole clothes from me and my laptop computer, which I purchased in November 2015 just before I came.
Alms giving on Alms Sunday in Lent in 2015 from the social justice minded folks at this shelter? No. An illegal eviction.
I had done paperwork twice for my tenancy that took over an hour each time to complete with different staff. And yet the staff pretended not to know me and stole my belongings when I came back to the shelter just after seven a.m. on Alms Sunday for breakfast at the shelter at nine a.m.
Oprah Winfrey and the press, as well as Guidestar.org, should also ask why within the past few weeks the budget for this organization has gone down from a reported twenty million plus dollars to the currently posted budget of over five million dollars. Is it because I have been preparing to sue this organization and they want to limit liability?
Inquiring minds may want to know. I certainly do.
Union Sataion is a place where people's dignity is kept and they help people with a high level of care , concern and also professionalism. The staff there are warm hearted human beings that if you are willing to help yourself , they will give you a helping hand. If not for them countless homeless people would be without meals , showers , beds, services such as medicial care all for free and given with human kindness. Thank god for union station and there should be much much more organizations like them. For more than 35 years they have helped the less fortunate of society...and are a role model for how people should be willing to help thier fellow man.
I am a proud alumni of the Union Station. I have been sober for going on 17 yrs. Still to date I have always been able to reach out to my family for assistance, my child volunteers during the summer. The Station has assisted with my childrens educational goals. Me and my children would not be the family we are today if it were not for the love, support and guidance we have received from my Union Station Family through out the years.
Review from Guidestar
I would like to take the time to acknowledge the wonderful, dedicated staff and volunteers at Union Staion Homeless Shelter. After experiencing what most people can only imagine, becoming homeless, instinctively I was very aprehensive on going to a shelter for assistance. I had heard a few "horror stories" or tales about other people's experiences with them. Fortunatley , I can not express enough how deeply pleased my family was upon being received at Union Station. The complete staff and volunteers are all warm and kind people. They truly want to assist individuals with not only dealing with becoming homeless, but also helping people build skills needed to regain a sense of self worth and confidence. The Sources staff assisted me directly with finding a job back in my field. They gave me great contacts and really took the time to work on my behalf. My experience here has been great and I would definatley recommend this assistance to any family in need. -- Thanks You Dearly, to all staff and volunteers !
I have used Sources job development program in 2004 and had great success! This year I have been working with my job developer, Rocio on updating my resume. We have had conversations in regards to a new carrer path that I am on. I just finished my mock interview and nailed it! I am looking forward to a job fair next week that Sources will provide transportation to. Mostly I am ready for that new job!
Helped with excellent resume, continued support after career development class, open door policy, lifetime career developer available, use of internet, phones, and media. Always have another place to call home. Thank you Union Station.
