I have been involved with UCP Central PA for many years, first as a volunteer, then as a camp counselor, and most recently as a parent of a child in their daycare program. Every employee that I have worked with truly cares about the program and overall mission of the organization. I look forward to my family's continued involvement with UCP Central PA.

From my professional involvement with UCP of Central PA, it is easy to see that this is an organization that truly cares about its mission; to assist infants, children and adults with disabilities. UCP is proud to tell their story, and I am honored to help them tell it. When producing the agency newsletter, I can see the pride in their eyes as they talk about the subjects of each article.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Help them to gain more funding so that they can further their mission.

My first experience with UCP was through services they provided to my young daughter. I was impressed with the caregivers and all aspects of the organization. When i was later asked to get involved as a volunteer, it was a no-brainer. I felt that was the least I could do for an organization that did so much for my daughter. That was more than 8 years ago. I have been a volunteer every since. As a volunteer, I have been fortunate to be a Board Member, Secretary, Board Chair and serve on various Committees. I am inspired daily by the dedication of the employees and fellow volunteers. There is truly a collective effort to achieve the organization's mission every single day. If you or someone you know needs their help, don't hesitate to ask. If you want to get involved, don't wait. You'll be glad you did.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

i can't think of any.

My family has directly benefitted from services provided by UCP of Central PA. The professionalism, knowledge, and care shown by its volunteers is a testament to the organization. My wife and I would have been lost without the care and expertise of our son's physical therapist. His first steps were a direct result of her care. These truly dedicated volunteers and staff are a great asset to Central Pennsylvania!

I was a volunteer at the UCP childrens center in Camp Hill when I was between jobs-I have to say I got more out of it than I gave to them, Watching the children in the day care center interacting with the children with disabilities was something to see, We could all learn a wonderful lesson from these children. The staff is the best, I enjoyed working with everyone and miss them all.
I also worked the Sports Auction and was so impressed by the hard work of so many people--you just wouldn't believe how much work goes into that event.
UCP Central Pa offers so much for people in need and also a great place to volunteer.
With my new job I'm not able to volunteer at the childrens center, but will continue to be part of this wonderful organization.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I worked as intern for UCP of Central PA for the last two summers. I must say both internships were quite rewarding experiences. Not only was I included at every staff meeting during my stint at UCP, but also I was made to feel like I was an essential part of the team. I felt like my thoughts and opinions were deeply considered and appreciated when expressed. Both internships gave me great confidence in myself and to be expose to the working world. I saw I could make a difference in the lives of individuals, some who have disabilities similar to my own, mainly through my words.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

If I had a chance to make changes to this organization, I would advertise UCP more, so individuals were aware and could reap its benefits. UCP is a sanctuary where clients can follow their dreams; whatever they may be!

The most significant benefit of my relationship with United Cerebral Palsy, I think, is to live independently, (with the help of my Mom and attendants, of course), and receive a college education. United Cerebral Palsy’s help proves that I can do anything with my life, even live in a dorm, not especially designed for individuals who have physical limitations. I never thought this possible before my involvement with the United Cerebral Palsy organization. Opportunities are limitless for those who are involved with the program. The receiver needs to have an open mind, though. Wildest dreams are possible with perseverance, self-motivation, faith in yourself and others’ faith in your abilities. United Cerebral Palsy continuously helps me to reach my goals; and with every success in my life, I am grateful to them.

I have been involved with UCP Central PA for 25 years, beginning as a volunteer for special events. I have served on many committees, worked as a volunteer on multiple fundraisers and served a term as Board President. I have always said that the dedication of the staff is my reason to stay very involved. I learned about UCP and its excellent programs from fellow volunteers and cannot recall the number of parents of service recipients who have praised UCP and its staff for miraculous results of therapies, counseling, etc. Good friends and parents of Joey credit UCP with his current school success. Staff commitment, innovation, and caring never waver. Staff inspires me to remain a lifelong volunteer!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Parents, who are friends, have shared the positive results of UCP programs for their children.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

If I could, I would further ensure UCP's future financial stability through fundraising for the UCP Foundation.

I became involved with UCP of the Capital Area 25 years ago when my nephew was diagnosed with UCP. Early intervention brought him up to his greatest potential. The programs and services offered to all ages with any type of disability is just amazing. The staff is so kind and qualified. I have seen huge progress over the years in the areas they cover, both physically and geographically. They never lose sight of the mission and the money raised is spent wisely. It is an honor to volunteer for them.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have seen fund raising events that were run very professionally. I have also observed their programs and services and am highly impressed.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

make the name more recognizable.
