Freedom House presented an illuminating training on human trafficking that was informative, practical, user-friendly, and empowering. I left more aware of the various protections and laws, the push and pull conditions, and ways that I could support individual victims and survivors of human trafficking in my local community. I was well-prepared for the subsequent volunteer event that was very positive. I highly recommend this organization for volunteering and support. I learned that I can do my part to stop modern-day slavery that is occuring in our communities.

Freedom House impacts on two levels. It directly supports women who are victims of human trafficking by providing them with a holistic array of support services - housing, medical, dental, life skills, counseling, job aid - to help them re-integrate into a full life. It also impacts by increasing the likelihood that more people won't have to experience what survivors of human trafficking experience by educating law enforcement and the community about identification and prevention. Human trafficking is the fastest growing black market industry globally, and disgustingly profitable. The lessons that Freedom House is learning and what it imparts to others provides tangible benefit against this local and global issue. In short, they do amazing work with a small staff and volunteer resources. Their training for volunteers is 40 hours, to really support the capacity to positively impact.

No other organization provides food and shelter services to survivors of human trafficking in this region of the state. One of the clients told me that Freedom House is like no other shelter she has been at previously. She said it is an excellent shelter and the staff is very kind and helpful.

It's amazing how much Freedom House has been able to do and how many survivors they have served in a relatively short period of time. And they are continuing to grow and serve more clients while witnessing many client successes. They have a thorough and useful training curriculum for volunteers. They seem to have a broad volunteer base and make good use of them.

I have trained with The Freedom House and have volunteered with them for several months now. I am impressed with the professionalism, the caring attitude, and the most hard working staff that I have ever worked with. I have seen the change in girls in the short time I have been there and they are upcoming to a better life. Thank you Freedom House for what you do, daily to change the lives of the survivors of human trafficking. You are truely amazing.
