Turn Your Life Around is amazing. It's passion for helping the homeless population with substance abuse and mental health issues is fresh and caring. They help iin so many ways, clothing, employment service assistance, peer mentoring, support group meetings and just as a resource center to help people get off the streets and into shelter and back on the right track.

I have voluenteered services at TYLA for two years.
I have helped with grant research and fundraising evernt.

I have watched this organization grow in number of clients and services offered.

They give clients a place to go when there seems no place. They care about each client
and go out of their way to help with mentoring, support groups and resources.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have seen people obtain sobriety that had never been sober in their life time. They have been reunited with lost family relations and gained employment. I have witnessed people truly turning their life around.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

More people with recovery support experience would volunteer their time for mentoring clients.

TYLA is an amazing organization. I work here as an intern, and I can honestly say that I have seen the people here make significant differences in their clients' lives. The employees and counselors make honest connections and really do want to help people in need get back up and make improvements to their lives. TYLA offers many services that help people find new outlooks on life and make changes for the better. I believe TYLA has had a huge impact on the community of Tucson and will continue doing so in the future. TYLA gives hope to people who thought they had none. The organization is really living up to its name, helping people to "turn their lives around."

Turn your life around is a non profit group here in my community.I first saw the story in the newspaper on how a recovered addict was helping people who are where she once was. She was stepping beyond herself and leaving her comfort zone for something to important. That tyoe of dedication pulled at my heart and I went in to see if i could volunteer. She was just getting off the ground, we had clothes everywhere, people everywhere, questions everywhere and even no air conditioning there for a minute! Everyone pulled through and worked so hard together. Cheryl and her team made things come together and in so many ways. They are a support groups, out patient rehab services, clothing programs and so much more for people who really need it. Everything donated is put in the store and sold in order to fund all the services they provide. With drugs being such a problem in our community as well as the rest of the nation, it's more than just positive to have such programs for people, it's essential. Even saving one person and showing them a better way would be worth everything they sacrificed and have done for others. Each day that passes another person walks through the doors for a friendly smile, a helping hand, hope and love. You have that at TYLA. This is a program worth supporting in anyway you can. I know it's hard to give when your thinking the money will be spent on something other than your donating for. It 100 % all to TYLA and the people it serves. This place has an address not PO Box, they are there when you walk through the door. Real people, real hearts and real hope.

The Great!

the faces of those who walk out the door taking with them what they have learned , who they have met and who they are now.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Can't think of anything. I think everyone is doing a great job in all areas.

My name is Dyan Norleet and I have been a volunteer off & on since they started..I have had the privilege of seeing them go from a small agency to one of the best in Tucson AZ, I have brought friends, family there for help, in donations, attending classes and counseling..I have always found them to be kind, supportive, helpful and always very caring..if they don't have the answer, they either find it or create it!! There was a time when I was very sick due to a treatment, and need help...they were there the next day, with what I needed and installed it..I always see "friends of TYLA" stopping by to bring donations, sharing how great their lives are going, and staff always has time to listen & support(no appt needed to show caring, & support) The staff there are well-trained and offer excellent services...I recommend to everyone to go there!! I am a professional therapist who is unable to work with over 20 yrs of experience, it is without hesitation that I say, they are the best in the community, and have brought so much to Tucson!! TYLA always helps!!!

like I said previously, when I was in need, Karl were there the next day with need installments, and never asked for money, and came with a positive, caring attitude that left me feeling empowered and not ashamed that I needed help! That says a lot about what they do, and how they do it, that's so important for clients!!

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

love to see them in a bigger building, so they could continue to expand services,,,,especially because services have been cut so much in AZ.

I have only been interning at TYLA for a short time, however during my weeks here I have seen their positive impact. I have had the pleasure of leading some of the recovery group meetings hosted by TYLA as well as participating in the peer to peer counseling. In doing this I have been able to teach people how to search for jobs, enroll in programs to recieve assistance in decreasing overwhelming financial debt, and most importantly achieve a lifestyle of sobriety they had thought to be impossible. TYLA has played, and continues to play, a crucial role in bettering the lives of Tucson's community. I feel lucky to be a part of such a wonderful program.

My experiences with the clients. I have had the pleasure of meeting with clients one on one and hearing their stories.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Provide them with the tools to put their name out there for those who could be helped by their range of services and programs. Tucson has so many residents suffering with drug and alcohol addiction. Its unfortuante TYLA does not have the monetary resources to reach out to those who are still in need.

I interned at TYLA to learn more about the process of recovery for addicts. Their treatment center is a wonderful place and the people are friendly and helpful. Not only do they make sure to take good care of their clients, but their employees as well. The facilities are very cozy and comfortable, which makes everyone feel at home and welcome. I would recommend this organization to anyone fighting addiction as I have seen a lot of success.

I've seen the program help many addicts in both individual and group therapy, as well as how the staff helps both the clients and the employees to make sure everyone is happy and taken care of.
