TYLA helped me get back custody of my baby and helped me get my life back too.
I was released from jail to their sober living house, I attended group counseling, support groups, mentoring sessions, and individual counseling at their facility.
I went through their job training program and
was able to use them as a reference which helped me get a job.
Today I am working and have my own apartment with my baby.
This would have never of happened without TYLA

TYLA is amazing and has impacted hunders! They are well organized and have people that really care about their city and the people that live there. They need funding and help so please consider helping TYLA. I have witnessed many people that have come off drugs and addictions or been through their concealing programs that have been changed for the rest of their life. TYLA is an outstanding place to go when you are in need. Thank you.

Im a recovering addict of 38 years, with now almost 2 years clean. I've been working for TYLA for alittle over 8 months. My passion is to help others when they have no hope, when they think this is just the way my life has aways been, and this is how it will always be, NOT TRUE. Working for TYLA has help me in my recovery and has helped me to help others in recovery.

My sister went to TYLA for counseling. She was on drugs and was in trouble with the law. She was really bad with our parents, and I didn't like her anymore. She was not the same sister I loved. After she went to Turn Your Life Around, she started acting like her old self. She quit using drugs and got along with the entire family better.

I am a volunteer here at turn your life around. When i started here it was exciting for me to be doing some good for other people. tyla does not judge anyone! thats what i love about working here, people feel comfortable & excepted here. In then month an 1/2 I have been here I have made store manager, an get to interact with some of the people who are really trying to do what they need to do, to turn there lifes around. It is very rewarding for me to know I have a small part in that !

I have been on the board for almost 4 years. I have seen this agency grow and grow. The population served is difficult. in spite of these challenges the staff is kind and very supportive these individuals keep comming back for their services. The atmoshere is "family like". Perhap's this is one reason.Through a difficult economy, TYLA is sustaining their program, I am proud to be a part of TYLA in so many way's. I wish that they had more resource's for funding available. It's been tough.

I recently started volunteering at TYLA and it has been an experience different than any other I have been a part of. I have participated in AA meetings as well as one on one meeting’s with people who have received DUI's. Volunteering in a place like TYLA gives you the opportunity to meet new people and listen to the different experiences people have gone through. The people who walk through the door come for various reasons, some they realize it's time they need to change their life, and others just want to be listened to. John is a great listener and knows what just to say to the visitor or client. I have learned the techniques on how to talk to people who come because of alcohol or drug abuse. In the AA meetings people are very open and that helps you get a better understand what people go threw to land in the situations they are in. I was able to relate in these meetings because growing up I had a dad who abused alcohol and drugs. In consequence of him being an abuser my siblings and I would experience domestic violence. Some of the people who attend the AA meetings have been attending these meetings for years and they have advised me on ways I can move on and drop the bag of pain I have been caring around with me for years. TYLA is a small location but is filled with a great staff, volunteers, and personals that make this experience worthwhile.

In ways that make me more educated in alcohol/drug abusers, DUI, and domestic violence. I have been more cautious in my drinking and making shore that no one drinks and drives when I am with friends. Going to the AA meetings have helped me on how I can move on and drop the bag of pain I have been caring around with me for years.

I would try to organize more meetings I think there are some people that need more help and advising. The location is a little small and I feel like they need more space for some of the meetings because sometimes there are big groups.
