I have watch TYLA grow and serve the needs of others since it started in 2007 In that time i have seen many people change their lives and become a active member of society It always warms my heart to see the family's that have benefited by the work that is done at TYLA

The staff is
unbelieveable and reach out to everyone that is part of TYLA THEY CARE and go beyond what is expected to help others

This is a very warm and inviting place and it seems like a family

I attended the Christmas party this year for the familes of TYLA and i could not believe all that they did for the children it was awesome

They are GREAT

I have only been interning at TYLA for a short time, however during my weeks here I have seen their positive impact. I have had the pleasure of leading some of the recovery group meetings hosted by TYLA as well as participating in the peer to peer counseling. In doing this I have been able to teach people how to search for jobs, enroll in programs to recieve assistance in decreasing overwhelming financial debt, and most importantly achieve a lifestyle of sobriety they had thought to be impossible. TYLA has played, and continues to play, a crucial role in bettering the lives of Tucson's community. I feel lucky to be a part of such a wonderful program.

My experiences with the clients. I have had the pleasure of meeting with clients one on one and hearing their stories.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Provide them with the tools to put their name out there for those who could be helped by their range of services and programs. Tucson has so many residents suffering with drug and alcohol addiction. Its unfortuante TYLA does not have the monetary resources to reach out to those who are still in need.

I am an intern at TYLA. They do everything they can to help people in need, whether it may be help in recovery or everyday needs. They are always there for a helping hand by giving clothes as care packages and toys to childern in the community.

I interned at TYLA to learn more about the process of recovery for addicts. Their treatment center is a wonderful place and the people are friendly and helpful. Not only do they make sure to take good care of their clients, but their employees as well. The facilities are very cozy and comfortable, which makes everyone feel at home and welcome. I would recommend this organization to anyone fighting addiction as I have seen a lot of success.

I have been volunteering here for 4 weeks and ever since i started I have felt right at home. All the employess are very nice and show great care to anyone who walks into the store form clients being served to the customers for the thrift shop. I have also had th privelidge of speaking with a handfull of the clients and they all have had a positive experience with tyla. Everyone is treated with respect and anyone looking for a road to recovery should definitely consider tyla for doing so.

Talking with clients and hearing their stories and how tyla has helped them on their road to sobriety. People also can come here for other things such as domestic violence, DUI, and adult responsibility such as assist poeple with job searching.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Try to expand to become larger because this place has the potential to serve even more people. With that said the current office fulfills its duties just fine but being a non profit organization getting things like expanding can be hard to come by.

I have been an advisor with Turn Your Life Around since they opened in 2007. I have seen the program grow and wintnessed the staff's care and support. The client's tell me repeatedly how much TYLA has done for them, and how they have needed them in their recovery. They need funding for their program to grow, and work on resources to help them with this continually. They are simply understaffed. The staff does whatever it takes to keep their small agency going. They are amazing !!

I work in a half way house where often inmates arrive with nothing more than what they are wearing, most have lost contact with friends and some come to us from other states and do not have any familiy close by or do not have any money and they have to find work withing 15 days of arriving to our program or they risk going back to prison. TYLA has been the place where our clients can go to recovery meetings, they offer peer to peer recovery support groups, they offer clothing giveaway, they offer employment services and job training services, and they offer bus passes also help them obtain birth certificates when needed and they give them 12 step books to the ones who need them, and other miscellaneous needs, but what I really admire of this agency is the integrity and the heart the staff have for all the clients that come into their agency, they greet you with a smile and shake your hand they treat you like you are someone who is an important person, they give our clients 2 bags full of stuff and they invited them to come to the meetings to give them support in their recovery, I take 2 to 4 clients every Tuesday to get clothes females and males and they always treat us with kindness and respect this agency is a small store the treatment section is in the back, when our indigent clients first arrive to our center they are afraid of what they may or may not do right, but knowing that there are people out there who is willing to give them support it does make a difference to them. This agency is truly a great resource of support for those who have nothing material and need to get better so they can take care of their family, they know how to inspire hope they always seem to know when speaking to our clients when to say something and when to just hear them out, they are so humble and helpful you can always tell when someone has real desire to help you and they do

I see what happends when our clients get a job offer but need to get work boots or need uniform pants and they have no money but if I take them to TYLA and get those things and are able to get the job is when I know how important TYLA is for us.
