Habitat for Humanity is GREAT! Working with the Tulsa women build group has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Not only do you help people do get a "hand up"; but you build some of the best friendships I have ever had. The people who get these houses work very hard. They put in "sweat equity" and then they turn around and help the NEXT familty. It is a wonderful organization with a wonderful purpose!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

When the first wall goes up --the joy of the new home owner is unbounded. I have personally seen a "to be" homeowner drop to their knees in tears and praise because due to the efforts of people they didn't even know they were finally going to have a home.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

nothing that I can think of!

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Seeing people actually getting decent, livable homes!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Staff and volunteers are great! Those that have the know how, show the others! It is a great concept!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

build a lot more homes!!

Ways to make it better...

I could afford to go on international builds. I would like to experience the joy of building different styles of homes throughout the world.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

There is never enough money to build all the houses that are needed. When you have a group that is eager to build, sometimes you lose volunteers - because they get discouraged that there are not funds to start yet another home!

One thing I'd also say is that...

If you want to volunteer for Habitat, you do not have to be an experienced builder. People with little or no skills can contribute! And we are all good at some things! Perhaps yours is planting the flowers! All are needed!

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
