I learned of Trips for Kids-Triangle (TFKT) when the Director (Andrea Hundredmark) approached the mountain bike advocacy group that I am a member of looking for volunteers for TFKT. Since then I've tried to help out in anyway that I can. TFKT has been great to work with and has participated in a couple of our events. Seeing the kids out on the trails: enjoying riding, learning new skills and smiling ear to ear really makes volunteering worthwhile.

I became familiar with Trips for Kids-Triangle because it was started in my school by a great teacher and friend. As I learned more about this wonderful program, I happily jumped on board to help. The difference in the kids who have participated is amazing. Their relationships and behavior in school have completely shifted into positive and productive channels. These students LOVE going out on the rides, working on bikes, and sharing their experiences with others. Trips for Kids is truly one of those rare efforts where your return gain is ten times that of the effort put forth. I truly believe it is postively redirecting the lives of children who were being lead down the wrong path.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
seeing kids get out of the narrow limits of their at-risk environments and enjoy something as only a kids can...completely!
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
extremely helpful and fully invested in doing great things for kids.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Change the circumstances of thousands and thousands of kids, indefinitely.
Ways to make it better...
the government would hurry up with the tax i.d. number.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
financing, financing, financing.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I love that, ultimately, this organization is giving kids the most important and effective resource of all...quality time.
