Transgender Resource Center

This place literally changed my entire life. I don't think I'd have had the courage to go through with my transition from male to female without the support and guidance I received from other transgendered people at the Transgender Resource Center. Without the TRC, I'd be a very different person than I am today.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The many people it's helped with their exploration of their gender identity
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Ask people for help, because it's too big a job for one person.
More feedback...
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The strong and lasting friendships I've formed with people from this group
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Diverse, to say the least, but all very supportive.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Save potentially hundreds of thousands of people from an unfulfilled existence, prevent suicides, and raise public awareness of a little-understood condition.
Ways to make it better...
This had existed 20 years earlier.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
A lack of understanding.
One thing I'd also say is that...
The world is a diverse place, and you never realize how diverse it really is until you have a place where people are free to share their feelings and experiences anonymously.

My "Second Life" (a Virtual World) Avatar Name is Ja Cuddihy and I'm presently a Volunteer with the Transgender Resource Center (TRC). I first came across the TRC on Second Life in November 2006 (with the TRC originally having been set up by Jani Myriam). Having this facility to discuss and deal with my Transgender issues at such time was of a great benefit and help to me personally. It still continues to be. In time, I was privileged to become a Volunteer with this wonderful Organisation and this allows me to give back to an extent the help and assistance which I previously received when I needed it. At the TRC we attempt to assist those with Transgender issues by affording to them Resources and a Facility where they can discuss such Transgender issues as are of particular concern to them. Indeed, non-transgendered persons who have a genuine interest in Transgender issues are also welcome at the TRC.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the manner in which it continues to evolve with an ever increasing membership and the changes which are rapidly being made to adapt effectively to this
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
not have drastically changed anything, as it has been a huge but enjoyable learning curve for all involved. The TRC is now moving to a new strata and future as a Non Profit Org

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the differences amongst so many people who have a common bond in being transgendered and how learning from this has enriched me personally
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
I have to say quite a varied bunch (knowing them as a fellow Volunteer!) but at the same time an interactive and intelligent gang to work with!
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
set up a Transgender Resource Center (TRC) at every street corner worldwide, virtual or otherwise!
Ways to make it better...
a facility like the TRC had been there many years back when I first began to seriously experience and question my Transgender issues
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
as it continues to evolve, to change and adapt to this and also to ensure to keep and recruit Volunteers who wil be actively engaged in furthering and bettering the TRC
One thing I'd also say is that...
for anyone who suspects that they may have Transgender issues, they should consider visiting the TRC to see if it is indeed a place where similar people can be found. I did and it is!
