THROUGH THE ROOF MINISTRIES

When I first heard about this organization I wondered why are they called Through the Roof Ministries? I learned it is from The Bible story of four men in Mark 2 who took a disabled man to Jesus. They couldn't get in the church because of the crowd, so they lowered him though the roof. Now this group is not lowering people through a roof. They are a caring group of people seeking to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people with disabilities. They do this in many ways including giving equipment, leading support groups, having dinners. Simply said, they care about the whole person and do not focus on the disability.

It was such an incredible experience to complete the Heart Force Bible study written by Shanda Gobeli with Through the Roof, Strength of Heart Ministry. This manual has helped me to focus on how God can use my trials with disability to take hope to others. After reading the manual I went and visited people with disabilities in a nursing home and shared with them that God still has a plan for their life. I hope to continue to go and join Through the Roof in their visitation ministry.

Heart Force is a discipleship Bible study. The study helps people with disabilities or those who have experienced hardship to use their circumstances to share hope with others. I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it to others.

She has Cerebral Palsy. Her speech made a big impact in my life, She made me laugh and cry and taught me to find emotional stability through the Word of God.
