I had the opportunity to meet with a former rider of Therapeutic Riding of Tucson, she was wheelchair bound and had serious dissabilitied. She had a TROT tee shirt on and when I asked her about it her eyes lit up and she described her experience at TROT. I contacted TROT and offerred my services as a volunteer. When I had finished the paperwork and screening, I toured the facilities and was so impressed at the equipment and careful thought put into place for the therapeutic concerns for the riders. The staff and volunteers are so skilled at improving the lives and well being of the riders it really touched my heart.
The horses are very gentle and seem to understand the riders needs, and are so very special. The excellant care and treatment the horses receive seems to show up in there interaction with people.
I truely believe that this is one of the most needed services for the physically, mentally, and emotionally challenged because it helps improve their wellbeing is so many ways.
I knew it would be a great organization when I contacted them, but it had really gone above and beyond my expectations as a therapeutic organization. I am looking forward to being a part of this great community.
