Therapeutic riding has many benefits. It's very rewarding to participate in the accomplishments of the riders. Often times riders have physical and/or emotional challenges that might make it seem that riding would be impossible but the TROT team is very persitant and talented and they are almost always successful. You don't need horse experience to participate because the TROT team will provide any training a volunteer might need.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My experiences with TROT over the years has always warmed my heart. Sometimes when I feel challenged I think of the riders and their challenges and it inspires me.

Trott has is a blessing to me from God. I enjoy watching riders, who have physical and emotion problems gain confedence, the big smiles when they they prepare, to mount, ride, and dismounting and grooming thier horse. My work thier needs no payment but, the love we all share.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

No matter who has disablities, all are challenged when riding and feeling happy about thier accomplishment.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wouldn't change a thing.I feel all the leader volunteers are incontrol of of the program.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I love watching the riders ride and see the joy before and after riding. They are filled with excitement.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Dedicated to the purpose of helping disablities with smiles and carefully they watch as they ride.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

I would purchase Gemini Farms and give to Trot.

Ways to make it better...

If I could do more, but I do enjoy watching a mircle of these special kids riding.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Having enough volunteers and room for a new prospect to ride.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Trott is amazing!

I had the honor of working as the Assistant Volunteer Coordinator for TROT for a little over a year two years ago. I was amazed at the quality of the program and the impact on the participants - volunteers AND riders AND their families. It is awesome to see a person empowered by a relationship with a horse and a group of loving and supportive of volunteers

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the empowerment of the participants - volunteers and otherwise.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

wage a publicity campaign in every venue that I could find an audience.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Leaving each week knowing that lives had been changed and participants had gained esteem and physical skills that would not have otherwise been available to them.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated, talented, knowledgable and passionate.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

replicate itself over and over and over....

Ways to make it better...

I had had more time to give to it. It is true that you get what you put in to something and I had only limited hours due to my other responsibilities.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding, funding,funding....

One thing I'd also say is that...

My life was personally altered through my experience with the program, as I believe my time spent there also helped to positively alter other lives.

The Therapeutic Riding of Texas - also known as TROT has had a tremendous impact on so many lives. Understanding that each 'little' drop of help done by each volunteer produces a ripple effect in the body of water called life - just watch it multiply and impact the whole. As our late head instructor, Christine Radosta's favorite quote says, "When kids and horses get together miracles happen" - sharing in these miracles with the families is an honor and privilege. Volunteering with TROT is just a small way to 'give back' to your community and makes such a profound impact on humanity. If you're looking to get involved with something bigger than yourself TROT is a provides a marvelous way of accomplishing this. the reward of lives changed and the grateful relief of the families

well there aren't any 'staff' as TROT is 100% volunteer run and survives on donations only. The volunteers I have met have been such an inspiration as I watch them give of themselves so unselfishly each year. It is humbling.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

purchase Gemini Farms - the location that is generously donated to TROT where all classes are held. Purchase additional horses that are needed to fill some gaps in rider needs. Hire an Executive Director to grow the organization in every way.

Ways to make it better...

we could help more people.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

growing our volunteer base and finances to keep up with rider need.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Get involved today!
