Being able to draw in community members of all ages. The foundation has such character, similar to a mom and pop restaurant; they make involvement in their event a memorable and personal experience that makes you want to get involved.

extremely kind and welcoming. You can tell that the people working for the foundation are there because they want to be.
fulfill it's current goals as well as future goals like re-opening the physical therapy rehab pool at Children's Hospital, opening a special exhibit at the San Diego Zoo, etc. The founders continue to have numerous ideas that will benefit the community.

finding big sponsors and donors. Most companies already have a charity of choice they contribute to and it seems as though they only way to get your foot in the door is to have a personal connection.
The Seany Foundation deserves to win the great non-profits awards. They have raised almost $400,000 in just a few years and most of that has been from small donations from the community.
