I've not only volunteered, I've donated to The Seany Foundation from the very first days of this organization. I was close to Sean Robins, the young man for whom this Foundation was named and the inspiration for it's existence. The Seany Foundation supports the noble goal of eliminating pediatric cancers while, at the same time, seeking to provide pediatric cancer patients with the same social opportunities as their peers. The organization has provided patients, their family and their friends with a chance to enjoy movies, parties and proms, as well as a safe, secure and accessible "teen room" where these young people can find peace and comfort, if only for a little while, in between their medical treatment and chemo regimens. I cannot think of a greater purpose for any organization and The Seany Foundation is to be highly commended for its selfless service to so many in need.

I knew Sean Robins and I know Mitch and Amy Robins. They have transformed their devastation at losing their beloved Seany into a crusade to eliminate the horror that is pediatric cancer so that no other family will ever again have to experience what they (and too many before them) have experienced. The Seany Foundation, since its inception, has raised awareness of the existence of pediatric cancers, raised money to fund research toward eradication of the disease and raised the hopes and spirits of so many young people now bravely fighting against their condition. The Seany Foundation is all about hope and, more importantly, perseverance--moving forward one step at a time, one day at a time--until the cure can be found.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
the creation of the research chair at UCSD Medical Center, the Seany Robins Teen Room at Children's Hospital, sponsorship of the prom for cancer patients and so many other ways.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
make a serious run at funding the research necessary to finding a cure for pediatric cancers.

I've been volunteering for this organization for almost a year now and the reward has been tremendous. The people involved in creating and growing the efforts for the Seany Foundation are what make this cause so special. Their empathy, creativity, and hard work make for uniquely effective results. It's a privilege to be a part of it.

The passion that you see from those involved in this foundation is infectious. From the founders, board members, organizers, and volunteers you see an intense commitment to carry on the fight for whom this foundation is in honor of, Sean Robins. The rapidly accelerating success in awareness and donations is a testament to their effectiveness as an organization and their tremendous potential.

The staff and volunteers are comprised of diverse group of people from all ages and backgrounds. Everyone is giving, hard working, motivated, and friendly.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Achieve their present goals and put itself in a position to set their future goals even higher!
Ways to make it better...
someone decided to donate $1,000,000 to the foundation
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
the same as any foundation of this sort...raising enough funds to accomplish the goal of beating cancer.
One thing I'd also say is that...
The efficeny at which the Seany Foundation deploys it's funds does not compare to any other organization I've seen, non-profit or otherwise.

I worked at The Seany Foundation during it's first two summers. We started with a goal to fund a research chair at UCSD Moores Cancer Center with the help of those who love Sean. TSF has since expanded it's goals and its network of loyal supporters. The future is nothing but bright and all involved with the Foundation have no intention of slowing down!

I have been involved with The Seany Foundation for 6 months and they have continued to put on fun and exciting events that community members of all ages can enjoy. The foundation is dedicated to eradicating childhood cancer and I am convinced they will continue to have a significant impact in the lives of many families.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Being able to draw in community members of all ages. The foundation has such character, similar to a mom and pop restaurant; they make involvement in their event a memorable and personal experience that makes you want to get involved.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the eclectic mix of different events the foundation organizes. They are committed to their cause and make sure that their donors are having a great time in the process and that their support is appreciated.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
extremely kind and welcoming. You can tell that the people working for the foundation are there because they want to be.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
fulfill it's current goals as well as future goals like re-opening the physical therapy rehab pool at Children's Hospital, opening a special exhibit at the San Diego Zoo, etc. The founders continue to have numerous ideas that will benefit the community.
Ways to make it better...
I would have known about them earlier.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
finding big sponsors and donors. Most companies already have a charity of choice they contribute to and it seems as though they only way to get your foot in the door is to have a personal connection.
One thing I'd also say is that...
The Seany Foundation deserves to win the great non-profits awards. They have raised almost $400,000 in just a few years and most of that has been from small donations from the community.

There is so much to be said about The Seany Foundation. I have attended almost every event, and they just keep getting better and better. For a charity that has only been around for 3 years, it is exceeding my expectations. Every event is different, with two things as a constant: they are always amazingly fun and the remind us and everyone who attends just what we are fighting for. The volunteers who are working for this charity are unbelievably open and willing to do whatever it takes to get this cause going. The Seany Foundation is going to do big things, so watch out!

Excellent organization. I have participated in only two of their events and they are truly a class act. Additionally, from what I hear, they are always looking for ways to increase the amounts earned from their events and use that for research. What a great cause and a great organization.
