Mission: A land trust dedicated to the preservation of the natural, historic, agricultural and scenic resources of Dauphin County and to the promotion of environmental education.
Results: Through 2009 we have preserved in perpetuity over 700 acres in our efforts to maintain wildlife habitat, preserve farmland and natural resources of Dauphin County. We also promote the use of native plantings through nine annual native plant sales, and conducted numerous free educational programs.
Target demographics: General Public
Direct beneficiaries per year: those residing in southern Dauphin County. Preserving farmland, wildlife habitat and open space benefits our local ecosystem, enhances quality of life, and provides educational and recreational opportunities.
Geographic areas served: Dauphin County Pennsylvania
Programs: The Swatara Greenway, The Kittatinny Ridge, Farmland protection, Native Plant initiatives, general land protection and free and informative environmental education programs.
