LILY SANCTUARY

The results of Lily Sanctuary's dedication to educating people and performing the complex tasks of rehabilitating, placing and keeping abandonded birds are evident in results. At Lily Sanctuary, both people and parrots here are learners. The dedication to continued learning is key to this organization's growth, and if they had more funds, they could help more people and more parrots. My experience with the Lily Sanctuary would be much better if I didn't know how many other parrots need such care, and how desperately few qualified dedicated people exist for this purpose.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
knowing that parrots' and peoples' lives are changed for the better because of the Lily Sanctuary.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
of the highest caliber.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
provide re-home and re-hab realities for more parrots as it properly educates human communities.
Ways to make it better...
I didn't know how many other homeless parrots need such care.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
human-centric concerns that can take time away from parrots and educational efforts.

Really dedicated and commited people doing very important work on behalf of parrots - the oft-forgotten third most popular pet in this country...and all too often in need of good homes due to their long lives and wild characteristics.

I have known the founders and many of the volunteers at the Lily Sanctuary for more than a decade at this time. We met and became friends because of a mutual interest in and love for ducks .. yes, ducks! I can truly say that there are no persons on this planet more dedicated to helping birds and other needy creatures than the Lily Sanctuary. I have seen them struggle for years to make ends meet, to raise money for veterinary care for a bird in desperate need, and yet never fail to answer questions or extend a helping hand to others even in difficult times for themselves. The Sanctuary is always clean, the birds are always well cared for, and ample "out" and "play" time is always given to the birds, AND the birds are LOVED. If not for the Sanctuary, each and every bird that is a resident there would be in dire straits.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
working with them at public events aimed at educating the public and finding homes for needy birds and animals. They do a top notch job of this.
